So, I started following your thread and started working on my Altmann TD. Looking at the original compared to the new tube I need find a lighter gray. I used a flat mat finish but it is too dark. I should be able to paint over this. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

Love it. This is a great resource. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk -
I have ordered one as well and I am looking for some set up ideas as well.

Alt bucket for sure, I have the same hat size as you and I have plenty of room.

Take a look at Spikes link. I'm 6'2 and well over 300. His armor fits good and looks terrific.

Congrats!

Ok so I made some adjustments and finished my new flight suit, I see I need to lower the pouches a bit more but these are the photos I am going to submit for basic approval. I would first like to get some feedback on if I need to do anything else. I really appreciate your input. Thanks. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

Hi, well I think it's time to post some photos. This would be for basic only. I can already see I need to put some velcro on the bi, forearm, and knee armor to keep them in place. I am also working on a new flight suit but I wanted to get some feedback on other items I need to change or improve on. Thanks to everyone on this forum as your fotos, advice and tutorials are a tremendous help. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

Thanks Aaron, "Snap" I get it, very funny. That's a good suggestion I will get to work on it.

I am in need of some assistance. I was getting geared up for some photos and the belt broke. The right hand side last box snapped off. Any suggestions on the best way to fix this or should I see about purchasing a new one? Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

Hi Robert, no worries, I know what you are saying. Being big has it's draw backs with anything we do. It has been challenging and fun adapting what I can. Spike's chest and back armor based on my research is one of the widest I have seen. I think it would be too hard to customize the chest and back for each person since molds take a while to create. But, who knows for the right price and time there might be an armorer who is willing. I am sure for a basic clearance the GMLs take into consideration not everyone is shaped the same. Of course I will find out soon as I am close to having everything done. I am finishing up my third flight suit. Practice makes perfect

Yes , I also have been looking at the Lancer photos. The big pouches are 9x10 and the skinny pouches are 6x10 so maybe I try a 7x8.5 and see how they look. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

I'm 6'2. I have around 10 inches between the bottom of the armor and where the belt is setting at the belly button. I agree about the pouches . Any suggestions? Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

Thanks Aaron, that is my dilemma the belt is going across the belly button. These were the first pouches I made but didn't look square enough. Do they look better or should I go with something in between. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

Ok so I have been working on the pouches. These are just tacked on which is why they are a little off. I have had to make these bigger to fill in the space between the chest armor and belt. I looked through the Lancer site to see how they should be shaped but I am still wondering if these are to big? Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

Thanks Kevin, the mannequin is a duct tape dummy of me so the dimensions are close to accurate. Unfortunately I am a rather big guy (well mostly my gut) so the belt is actually sitting at the belly button and just above the hips. I was unhappy with the belt straps so I am redoing them. As soon as that is done I will post some pics of me wearing the bund and armor. This way I can remeasure to ensure the pouches are the correct size. I am very open to suggestions to improve on anything, but pics are sometimes difficult to tell a person's size so I have been learning through many trial and errors how to adapt items but still maintain the standard. There is not an ART team near me so I try and show up when the local garrison is out to view and ask questions.

It has been a while since I posted. I have the cummerbund and cod complete or at least the latest version. I will be starting on new pouches to make them longer. I have also ordered and received and new RedKap. It is being tailored. I will be making new patches since I was instructed that my current ones do not go high enough. Also looking at the picture my vest sleeves flair a little so I will work on that. Any other comments would be welcome. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

Hello, before I put the final touches on the belt, TD, and hip boxes I wanted to check and see how it was shaping up. I still need to add the rivits. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

The boot heights look fine. The patches, like I said in your other thread, look like they could go up a bit higher. There ideally shouldn't be "flight suit" between the patch and the cod. Unfortunately, you'll need to start over if you choose to do that, because they are about perfect on the bottom. Thanks Kevin and Tim, I have already purchased another Red Kap based on your previous response. You learn so much from feedback and mistakes, but at least it's fun.

I was wondering if I can get some opinions on if the knee to the top of the boot looks right, before I attach the holster. Also I am not completely happy with the riding patches and would like some input on those. Thanks. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
