  1. Those really don't resemble the Orca Bay's that well. The shape of the over all boot is off, along with the elastic area's shape and color.
  2. Got a link to the boots?
  3. I believe someone on facebook has been offering them for sale. They are not required for level 1 though if you have a hard time finding one.
  4. Just set them up side by side and used a setting that looked about right on my sewing machine.
  5. The E11B has a longer magazine than the traditional e11, along with the flashlight.
  6. They are two different types of gloves.
  7. I believe it was the same grenade but it may have been painted differently. There's not a picture of that scene in the visual guide so I'm just going from memory.
  8. Unfortunately there are no US suppliers. The boot is exclusive to the UK. You'll have to get it from one of their stores and have it shipped.
  9. Yes the Brecon in "Sand" color is the screen accurate boot. The "Havanah" color is also a good match.
  10. For level 1 they are fine but they are missing the logo from the screen used boots. If you're interested in level 2 down the road I'd consider just grabbing the legit Orca Bay's as the IB's don't seem to be that much cheaper of an alternative.
  11. Welcome. First off I'd suggest taking a look at the CRL requirements available here: http://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:ST_shoretrooper There's a few different makers for the different soft parts. We don't really advertise the builders here on the boards but you can take a look at a few other trooper's build threads to get an idea of what everyone else is using.
  12. Their pants will be fine for a level 1 approval as long as they fit the wearer properly.
  13. Yes dark grey is fine.
  14. Yep, Jim's is perfectly acceptable for basic.
  15. It definitely appears to be a rip off to me. Two things that throw BSP's helmet off for me are the lack of the black eye section, and the shape of the "under-eye bags" being a bit too thick (imo) This helmet matches those and every other shape on the helmet about perfectly, as far as I can tell from pictures. Dude's facebook page has zero in progress photos. And his ebay pages all say this "I'm refunding and canceling all not send orders after opening any kind of dispute/case against me with no exceptions." I'll be happy to say I'm wrong if proof is provided, but personally I would avoid this guy.
  16. Welcome, we're gonna have quite a few shoretroopers here in the FLG.
  17. Agreed. At $90 I don't really see the benefit to not just grab the real deal right now. They are a little bit cheaper, but if you're sinking the money into an accurate costume I personally wouldn't be to worried about saving $30. Just get the real deal and be set. But I understand everyone's situation is different and that may be a big difference to them.
  18. It would depend what kit you have whether or not the visor comes pre-attached. Most people would use e6000 or CA glue to attach it if it did not come pre-attached. Painting again would depend on the style of helmet. Jim's helmet for instance has the pre-attached visor. Painting is really no problem though. HQ would be the place for a build thread.
  19. The rest of the legit colors courtesy of Glyn Dillon: "The red on arm is Halfords Toyota Red 3E5. The Blue/grey stripe was a base colour of Halfords Ford Nordic Blue - with and over spray of Halfords Matt Black then a subtle overspray of 'Dirty Down' grey. All thanks to king of our breakdown dept Tim Shanahan."
  20. yep, cheap, easy to find eva foam.
  21. Thanks for having me guys!
  22. I glued mine in sections to the armor.
  23. Pretty even split from the few makers.
  24. I had a good experience with them a few months ago.
