The unused hip armor is probably why we have those elastic straps around the thighs that don't do anything.

The pictures don't do it justice, they look fantastic in person! -
TB-25415 Requesting Lancer Status (APPROVED)
khazara replied to ShaunPug's topic in Lancer Deployment Request
Congrats on the Lancer approval! Good work! -
I use this, and I don't need to apply it very often - every few months depending on usage and environment. https://www.amazon.com/McNett-Drops-Dive-Defog-Anti-Fog/dp/B003M5YYKM/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1493706242&sr=8-8&keywords=Diver+anti+fog

Parrothead Cathy cummerbund and flak vest?
khazara replied to Chopper's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout HQ
I got my first vest from her 2 years ago, and it had to be redone because she didn't use the measurements I provided. She quickly remade it and sent it at no charge, which was nice. I've just replaced it with one from Max's Sci Fi because after 40+ troops it was showing some wear. -
I just finished my other Rogue One related costume last night, now I can try to get my Lancer app finished! :-)
-
Congrats!

Well done, trooper!

I think the colour and the concave end looks good. In my opinion. :-)

Tucks into the collar of the jumpsuit. No logo removal needed.

TB-10078 'khazara' Requesting Lancer Status (PENDING)
khazara replied to khazara's topic in Lancer Deployment Request
Thanks, Mickey! I can take new pics with some of these items adjusted, and make some modifications to the other items. Could I ask for clarification on a few of these items? 1) Boots - I can definitely add sole cuts to the front of the boots, but the CRL seems to indicate it's only needed on the heel portion: "Film-accurate vertical and horizontal ribbing cut into the heels of boots." 4) Dropboxes - you mean I need to make sure the left one and right one are at the same horizontal plane, right? Same length from the belt. 5) Chest armor - Doesnt the CRL specify 45mm (1.75") for under-arm webbing and 40mm (1.5") for drop boxes? In any case I'll re-measure what's in place there to confirm. Thanks! -
My SC Scout Trooper WIP for 501st Application
khazara replied to shenphong's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout WIP
Looking good! It's fun to troop with the DLT-19 - on short troops anyway. I added a scope to mine so that it approximated the sniper look from the games. I wanted to point out that your boots seem to be a little tall. There should be an inch or two between the knee armor and the top of the boots, but in some pics (like the one in the post above) it seems the knees are actually overlapping your boot shaft. But it's only in some pics so maybe the knees slipped down. Adding the Lancer detail of a second elastic strap attached with rivets might help with that. And this won't affect approval but you might want to round the corners of your bicep armor pieces and the last boxes at the ends of the belt. The sharp edges will cut/wear into your undersuit. Good job overall! -
Also, do you have the rivet on the bottom of the tank?
-
You're almost there! Here's a real easy fix: the bicep pieces with the t bits should be worn with the two dots facing the front. So just switch which arms you put them on :-)
-
I put on my flak vest like a shirt, with the Velcro already done up.
-
Congrats, brother!

welcome to bikerscout.net. Take a read of many of the forums, there is no one source where you can buy a ready made biker scout costume, however there are several recommendations and options for each component of the full ensemble.

Replaced helmet decals with more accurate ones, particularly the rear trapezoids which previously had black borders. And I realize I had neglected to include any photos of my blaster out of the holster: -
I have no fogging of my lens but I'm not in a humid part of the country (So Cal). I use snorkel/scuba mask "no fog". Something like this: U.S. Divers Anti-Fog Gel https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BUMEYKY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_aKW6xbD3307C5

There is a new entry as well, there's a free app called TKVoice. I haven't looked into it recently but it requires a specific set of cables/splitter in order to split the one headphone jack into a mic input and speaker output.
-
People love hearing the voice using the icomm/aker setup. When it's in your pouch people don't realize that it's not coming from your helmet and it allows for easier volume adjustments than if it's in the chest. If you go for the icomm, message him instead of purchasing on the site, he will give a small discount to 501st members. $5 or $10 I think.

Greetings, exalted ones. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Todd Felton, TB-10078, a loyal member of the Imperial Forces. I know that you are powerful, mighty Lancer approvers, and that your anger with sub par submissions must be equally powerful. I seek an audience with Your Greatnesses to apply for Lancer status. With your wisdom, I am sure that we can work out an arrangement that will be mutually agreeable and enable us to avoid any unpleasant confrontation. As a token of my goodwill, I present to you a gift: these twenty-eight photos. They are very detailed and should serve you well. How to people store/transport their armour?
khazara replied to Canterbury Tail's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout HQ
Yes I can pick it up and carry it, frequently when stairs are involved. Rolling works better but you can carry it as well. -

I use the Contico rolling locker. I got it at Container Store for $40 but i see WalMart (online anyways) now carries it for $26. http://www.walmart.com/ip/2476189 I just riveted a flexible nylon fabric strap to each end and it's great! But everything has to be fit in just perfectly each time, which also makes it good for shipping to conventions if that's an idea. -
I got the Scampa CoolSkin after it was recommended by someone here on the forums. I've been using it over a year now over 30 troops and it's working great. Highly recommended and price is mid range.
