It has been a number of weeks since I have received my Red Kap jump suit and I can put it on with only a little resistance. It is the right length in the arms and legs but when I bend over it gets really tight in the back and it is really tight in the crotch. It seems like if it was only an inch taller I wouldn't have this problem. Is there any way I can fix this or should I just return it and buy a bigger size?

The price I would say is over the top and that version is made of fiberglass. My head is 23" around and when I tried the EFX on it got stuck on my head but I was able to put it on and take it off with some elbow grease (if I got a haircut it would be no problem). The problem is that the original helmets are made from abs plastic which is flexible to some extent so bigger heads could still somewhat squeeze in, but when you are dealing with fiberglass it is as flexible as a rock so if it does not fit on your head when putting it on, it will never fit. Once I got it on however it was very comfortable and lightweight which is a plus. So is it practical for trooping? I would say yes given that your head can fit when putting it on and -$700 isn't going to leave you eating ramen noodles for the next two months. Otherwise NO, it isn't. (DISCLAIMER: I have not trooped before so I am only going off of what I have heard from others about wearing a helmet while trooping) EDIT: The price point and design is aimed more towards collectors and people who will keep it in a glass case but that won't stop people from trooping in it. Yes the EFX master patterns are castings off of the original molds that created the helmets seen in the movie (maybe explaining the very high price) It is a very beautiful helmet and deserves the 'screen accurate' title for its shape but not for the materials.

Mon Cal wait time

That is absurd... I think it is time for me to pull out as well. Such a shame... -
Just curious but what does CF stand for? Edit: never mind I remember now.

Mon Cal wait time

Thank you for your insight Lou, I did not know that they did all of those other jobs. after reflecting more on this I realize that my situation could be a lot worse. They have been very good about answering emails and have been very polite, which I forgot to mention on the thread. This is my first costume so my expectations were probably unrealistic as I have no experience of having really nice quality costumes like you guys. I'll admit when I first ordered my costume I was so anxious to get it that if I had enough imperial credits I would have hired Boba Fett to freeze me in carbonite until my armor and helmet arrived at my doorstep so I didn't have to wait lol. I just need more patience... -
Mon Cal wait time

I'm with you on that one Brian, if I had known it was going to take that long I too would have ordered from a different vendor such as SC. I do look forward to getting my MC kit and all of my negative feelings will vanish once I receive that shiny beautiful armor but for now I am in costuming purgatory lol -
Hi guys! Back in July of 2014 I ordered an armor kit and cummerbund from Mon Cal a.k.a. Far Away Creations and was given a quote time of 28 to 32 weeks for the kit to be completed. On march 5th (32 weeks later) I emailed them asking about how far my kit was coming along and they messaged back saying that I was #32. I averaged that they were producing around 8 kits a month at that time and recently I have averaged that they are making them at half that rate at around 4 kits per month. When they told me 28 to 32 weeks I thought 32 weeks would be the longest it would take for them to make it but BOY was I wrong... I am growing impatient and frustrated with them. At this rate if they keep producing 4 kits per month than I will not get mine until December almost a year and a half after I ordered the kit. I understand that in the costuming world things can take a long time but a year and a half? If anyone reading this is currently waiting for their MC armor kit or has ordered it in the past and had the issue of the quote time entirely inaccurate PLEASE post it on this page. This is unacceptable to make people wait that long after they give you their hard earned money all in advance. I just want to see how many people this is affecting.

Beautifully done!!!

I can attest to what Rob is saying about Mon Cal as I am still waiting for my kit that I ordered in July of 2014 and I am number 23 on their list and they make about 4 kits a month. However, I know a guy on here that ordered a kit from studio Creations and swapped out the chest piece with a Mon Cal chest piece. The cool thing about Mon Cal is you can order individual parts from them and it does not take very long for them to ship those out.

What is the best website to buy...
Oberkisstillalive replied to tckoolaid125's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
I personally am going on one year waiting for the armor kit from them. Just go with Studio Creations they are WAY faster than MC. Unless you feel like waiting until summer of 2016 to get it... -
I agree with stasz on the ears. I would also recommend making cheekbone indents on the faceplate and giving it a slight flare. this helmet looks like it has all of the right proportions otherwise and I can't wait to see the finished product. I will definitely be following this thread with great interest! I would definitely be interested in buying one.

Has anyone received a link to pay the other 50% of the deposit yet?

the screen used ones are a tight fit. So far I have tried on an EFX which as you probably know is made using the original molds, and it was an extremely tight fit. It actually got stuck on my head while taking it off (remember, fiberglass does not flex at all) the difference is RS will be made out of abs which is flexible as opposed to the efx being fiberglass, so do not worry about the dilemma of the RS getting stuck.

Its is still available on their website so I would say most likely yes. Although I am really surprised they did not sell out completely... I am not sure about the lens but it will have the correct hard hat liner.

I'm glad I am not the only one...

Has anyone gotten theirs yet?

I knew the day would come when someone would perfect the biker scout helmet! I can't wait to receive mine!

nice find! This was a promotional still not a screencap. It's a little weird to think that the helmet would have no chin cup. I wonder what happened there... -
looking great! Any luck with the lens?

Green Lens or Tinted Film
Oberkisstillalive replied to Rezboy's topic in Kashyyyk Trooper Armor/Helmet
From what I have seen on you tube there is a guy that was making a Clone Commander Gree helmet and for the lens he used a plain chrome window tint and actually used a cut open 2 liter mountain dew bottle on top of the tint to make it a green mirrored lens. Here is a link to the video The lens part is at 13:27 in the video. Good luck! -

you have created one of the most screen accurate kashyyk trooper costumes I have ever seen, Absolutely beautiful build! For a second there I had to do a double take because I thought you Photoshopped a screengrab cgi clone scout from the movie. Nice work -
I am trying to visualize this xD
