  1. Tim is right about the copyright issue. and yeah I never really factored how much it would cost to print something of that scale and detail.
  2. Well, it was worth a shot. maybe someone could make a pepakura file out of it.
  3. Yeah that may be a huge roadblock. But what if the person just supplied the file and it would be up to the other person downloading it to go to a shop to have it printed?
  4. This is an Idea that I have had for a few months ever since the Battlefront beta and files have been released online and I hope someone with the knowhow and materials can make this happen. All of the characters, weapons, and vehicles in the up and coming Battlefront game were 3d scanned from original screen used props, costumes, and model miniatures used in the original trilogy. The biker scout is no exception from that list and If you have seen in-game footage, played the beta, or even seen screen caps you will know that the Scout looks spot on. That being said I have found a playermodel addon for the PC game Garry's Mod that has the same model file and I will post up pictures of it in a bit. There was a thread on here a few months ago where someone was working on a 3d printable scout helmet but I haven't seen anything on it recently, If you could combine the files of the 3D scanned model of a screen used helmet with a few tweaks (probably a lot more than a few) to the design to separate the faceplate from the helmet and make it hollow and have thickness you could make a geometrically screen accurate helmet. I thought I would just throw this out there as a lot of you are upset about waiting for other companies to produce and ship out lineage hemets and this would be pretty cool if it worked out. No offense to other propmakers out there who fan sculpt helmets and to people who have fan sculpted helmets as those helmets are very beautiful helmets and most are pretty accurate looking considering you are mostly going off of pictures for reference. But if you have OCD like me (literally), and you really want something that looks just like the original you know how hard it is to get your hands on a LW helmet which is darn close to the originals and preordering anything star wars these days usually takes years to actually get. This could be a cool solution! Thoughts?
  5. thanks guys! Wow I had no idea you could use hot glue. I might actually try that as I have a hot glue gun. I don't really have access to a sewing machine unless I am at my grandmas, so I will ask her. I guess I am just psyching myself out lol
  6. Hey guys I am happy to report that my MC armor kit and cummerbund with pouches finally came in on Halloween after 16 months of waiting! While I was and still am extremely overjoyed that I have the kit it finally donned on me that I am a total and complete noob and have almost no sewing skills or experience, have never trimmed armor, let alone built a real costume like this before. You guys on the forum make it look so easy lol. The instructions disc that comes with the kit is pretty vague for a noob like me though after reading through it a number of times it is slowly starting to make sense. I really don't know where to get started as I am very overwhelmed. To make matters worse I REALLY want to have this completed, or at least wearable (ie not perfectly completed or 501st ready (yet) but still look nice), in time so I can wear it to the Force Awakens release next month. I really need some guidance please lol
  7. sorry man, can't help you there, I bought my helmet from a completely different vendor
  8. Mon Cal armor kit and cummerbund with pouches received on October 31st!!! Just when I thought it would never come it shows up at my family's house! I will be creating a new thread
  9. I am going on 16 months waiting for my armor from FAC (aka MC). Unless you don't mind waiting until 2017 (and I am not exaggerating) to get your kit. MC is the most screen accurate and he gives you all of the parts you need, however. But it's really up to you. I am most likely going to receive my kit in the next few weeks and I will be very happy when I get it I am assured. Although it takes a long time a lot of folks are saying it is worth the long wait.
  10. I ordered mine back in January or February when they were first announced
  11. does anyone think that we will get these helmets before December?
  12. does the hole on the faceplate already come pre-cut? I would suggest coloring in marker where you think you should trim to sort of see what it might look like if you trimmed it
  13. they just updated their FB page saying that the helmets are being painted up and they posted a few pictures of the helmets https://www.facebook.com/rspropmasters/timeline?ref=page_internal
  14. Apparently the biker scout neck seal is completely different from the TK one. I spoke with Gino at star wars celebration and he showed me pictures of the neck seal from the LFL archives. He told me that they are completely different in both materials and design.
  15. I Just got an email update from them yesterday saying they will be doing commissions within the next coming days.
  16. They have been saying the same thing for two months now. But I hope they are right this time
  17. the closest thing you can do to that is make the armor green for a swamp trooper which I believe is an approvable costume
  18. Is there anybody that attended their open studio event that has any news on this? It has been almost four months since they were supposed to be released
  19. lmao it has an AK-47 handgrip
  20. good luck in your search! I ordered an RS for my first helmet, I do not have it yet so I cannot tell you if it's good for trooping but a lot of folks here are doing the same thing from what I understand. My main concern is that it is made from a thin gauge of plastic so it is more fragile than the others...
  21. I will bring this to their attention without hesitation...
  22. well, last month I was #18 in the queue and now I am #19. That makes absolutely no sense...
  23. Wow that is flippin sweet!
  24. ok thanks man. I will try the spandex and see how it works. I should probably put the suede in the thighs before I do that though.
