great post mickey I am sorry to see the flaws you got on your helmet but at least they're not too bad. I finally got mine a few days ago and LOVE it. the tube stripes on mine are peeling off as well and a rivet that keeps the liner in place popped out of place so it is annoying but nevertheless it is an amazing helmet. also I was finally able to get the faceplate to sit upright but then the top of the visor cracked right on the seamline where the two halves are joined which made a huge snap noise and scared me to death because I thought I broke the helmet. Fortunately the (tiny) crack is only really visible when the faceplate is up so it's not too big of a deal but I refrain from opening it too often. Glad to see we finally got our helmets I remember talking about them with you at SW celebration!

Just got my shipping notice yesterday as well, wow its a shame about the snout piece. I guess its a good thing my armor kit came with a flawlessly molded snout piece so in a worse case scenario I can carefully take off the original one and put the new one on. One would think that with all of these delays the helmets would be perfect but apparently not. I remember having nightmares that my helmet was delivered and it was warped and broke in half upon taking it out of the box, it was literally one of the worst dreams I have ever had, I am sure it wont be even nearly as bad as that though lmao.

I agree with you ben, I think that they bite off more than they can chew with all of these projects, especially the Scout helmets. If they get too big like what Sergiu is suggesting Lucasfilm can take legal action against them because they are not licensed to produce Star Wars merchandise. Anyone remember Andrew Ainsworth? I pray that never happens to RS but they are pretty big already. Who really knows. I just want my helmet...

I just read on their fb page saying that They had to have the decals professionally done and they should be here in a few weeks. They also stated that the 2nd batch is already assembled and just needs to be painted. These are just their responses to comments on their fb page though.

this is just getting ridiculous... they originally told me I was "confirmed" in the first wave and now they are saying that I am in the "very front of the second wave" I don't care if I am in the front or the back IT IS STILL THE SECOND WAVE. They lied to me. If the first wave hasn't even been released yet god knows I'll be lucky to get my helmet by this year since it's in the second wave. I will not be ordering from them again unless their customer support, time management, and priority to orders changes greatly. And they NEED to stop lying about when they will be shipping out their goods, it is beyond irritating. The things we go through to get a screen accurate scout helmet...

your weathering job is the the most accurate I have seen. when I saw it I actually let out an exited giggle (not making this up). It looks amazing. How and what did you use to paint it like that?

It could be far worse I suppose. I could have preordered the EFX helmet and would get it in just enough time to be buried with it.

First 25??? I am #27 and I was told I would be in the first wave. Could it possibly be from people cancelling their orders? I sure hope so... I ordered back in January of last year so the one year mark has come to pass

KS is probably your best bet. I don't know if people are still having issues with Cucblack but I personally would stay away from him because of his track record for notoriously taking FOREVER to ship out and backlog his stuff. SC is the smallest of the helmets so probably not the best for a bigger sized head. KS can be made to look decent although I have heard that when you pay to have it pre assembled it needs a lot of modification just to pass basic clearance and look good. If you don't want to diy than you will have to ask around on the trade forum to see if someone is selling a used KS bucket. FAC uses the MLC bucket which is on the small side. There is also Altmann's which is already assembled but I hear they are also on the smaller side. Hope this helps!

Just got an email today from RS apologizing for taking so long on the helmets saying they should have the first wave finished and shipped by the end of this month. They said the scout helmet is now a "top priority project" for them to finish.
