Or is it possible to dye the white stripes I have provided from SC?
-
I'm planning on going off-white for the pouches. Does anybody know if Joann Fabrics carries the appropriate off white canvas straps and elastic?
-
Glued the greeblies on the back of the TD and painted the Makita clips. Hope to get this finished tomorrow. Cut out the holes on the drop boxes and in the belt buckle. Just need to sand/file them a bit. Lastly, picked up the Biker Scout hallmark ornament today....how appropriate that it was released the week I got my armor!
-
Added that just last night. Thanks!

Thanks! Got up this morning and shaved a bit off on each side. I think i'm going to start working on the belt/TD attachment next. Holding off on sewing the elastic/velcro straps for the knees, elbows, biceps and shoulders until I have my softgoods, but will attach the velcro to those pieces so they are ready to go. Blaster should be here next week thanks to the awesome NegativeEleven, so will get the holster/magnets in place on the very cool boots I received last week from MXPXRobbie.

I'm thinking the top pinstripe on the tank is too wide....should I shorten it about 1/2" on each side maybe?
-
Got the tank riveted to the back. Used a metal for sale sign bent at a 90 degree angle to rivet the top and attached the bottom as well. Love the rivet gun! Such a satisfying sound that thing makes.

Got the stripes on the tank. They look straighter than I thought they would but we're pretty stressful. Went with 4 stripes as that's my lucky number.
-
Thanks guys! Hoping to get some more done on it later today.

The dangers of posting from my phone! Here's the detonator and I had the tabs going up as well. And yes, the armor is awesome!

Here are the biceps. Posted the same pic above twice.

Got my armor this afternoon and was very impressed by all the quality of the armor, accessories, shipping material and how Jeff was able to get everything packed into a fairly small box. Got a little work done today. Glued the greeblies on the biceps. Started on the tank/topper. Went a little heavy on the glue so had some ooze out the sides, but came off after I let it dry for a bit with my finger nails/exact i blade. Added the grey decal to the chest. Finally started the thermal detonator a bit. I've seen the greeblie placed both ways, does this look correct? Haven't glued either yet.

Thanks man! I appreciate you taking the extra time to make sure it's perfect. Thanks for the advise on the gloves.

Very excited....my SC armor shipped today and should be here Wednesday! Should have my boots/blaster here this week as well. Exercise/eating better has been going pretty well, so I'm hoping to order my soft goods in a few months. Helmet should be here early August, and I need gloves and I'm set! Going to start a build thread later this week once everything gets here.

Thanks for the really detailed explanation. Didn't realize there was an indent for the circle...that really makes life easier.

Thanks again guys. picked up a metal For Sale sign and it's definitely easy to bend, but not sure if it will support the tank. Was thinking I might cut a few pieces and double or triple it up to add some support. It looks like there is a lip on the top of the back armor that the topper will rest on…is that correct? Question on the white circle…..did a forum search and didn't find my answer. Do most of you just cut the circle shape out of painters tape and hand paint it on? How big is the circle or do you just eyeball it?

Awesome….thanks guys! Going to head over to Home Depot later and see what I can find.

Small update. Have the upgraded snout piece and am going to paint that up soon. Should have my SC armor in the next 2 weeks hopefully. Ordered my blaster from NE and should have that in soon. Boots are also ordered. Been exercising and eating better, so hope to order my soft goods sometime in the early fall. Was told my KS helmet would ship by the beginning of August. Quick question. Would a scrap of For Sale sign work for the piece to attach the hump to the back plate? Don't have a heat gun and was just thinking of using boiling water.

Waiting for some eBay items to close and going to use the money for those items in the very near future!
-
Great info....thanks!

Here are the rivets I got…will these work? Also have some 2.4 mm 3/32", 4.0mm 5/32", and 4.8 3/16" rivets. Thanks in advance!

Picked up the rivet gun and an extra box of rivets there…thanks for the info! I may look into a palm sander from there as well. Going to pick-up a for sale sign or two to practice riveting on in the meantime. Armor should ship in 2-3 weeks, so hoping to have a good chunk of July to get it together.
-
Thanks again….just ordered two now.
-
Did you need one or two? Thanks a lot.

Nice! Going to my folks on Sunday and they have one right by them....will have to stop by and pick one up. Thanks!
