  1. Thanks for the info! Going on two weeks since I got the number, so fingers crossed I get some movement this week. Very anxious to suit-up.
  2. It was. He's been nothing but helpful and super responsive in his messages. Got the tracking # on Oct. 22 and it still won't work.
  3. Definitely post some pics! Still waiting on my soft goods. Great communication with the seller but still haven't arrived and the EMS number doesn't work yet. Anyone have a package sent and the tracking info stays inactive for over a week? Thinking it's just still going through customs but am starting to get nervous.
  4. Thanks a lot....couldn't have done it without all the tutorials/advice on the forum. Just got word that my soft goods shipped on Saturday, so should...."fingers crossed" be able to suit up for Halloween. Would love to attend the 501st party at Celebration Anaheim, but am not hopeful that I will be approved in time to get tickets, if they are even still left.
  5. Oh yeah it was. Still not really pleased with it, but thinking it will do. Still need to weather my armor/soft goods when they come in. Waiting to get everything in first so I can work on it all at once.
  6. Not much to report, but just ordered my soft goods this morning! Hoping to have them by early October and get everything fitted and in order to be sent off for legion approval.
  7. Got my helmet pretty close to done. Have a little flair- up around the snout that I'm going to work on....
  8. Thanks for posting this! I ended up finding some of the metal discs for jewelry stamping at Hobby Lobby for $.99 for a pack of 4. Only downside was they had a tiny hole to fish a chain through. I used a very small amount of Bondo glazing putty to fill in the hole and used the same primer grey I used on my snout, and it looks pretty good! I had to do something as the furniture pads KS supplied got goofed up when I taped the helmet off for doing the black on the snout. The paint on the furniture pads came right off with blue painters tape, which was only on for a few hours.
  9. Received my KS helmet and had an odd question....do most of you have to open the visor in order to out the helmet on? The helmet fits fine, but only when I open the Velcro and release the visor. Is this standard with a Biker helmet like how you have to turn a TK helmet to get it on, or do I just have a big melon? Also, any suggestions for type of paint to use for the black on the snout? Just satin black? I have the upgraded snout piece from rottie and TrooperBay decals....was debating using the grey decal with the black border KS supplies instead of painting....would this be ok for 501st approval?
  10. Got shipping confirmation from KS that my helmet will be arriving Saturday! Can't wait to have it in hand. What color spray paint should I use for the grey on the snout piece? Just gray primer?
  11. Got my drop boxes attached. The straps are functional and I've left enough webbing on them to fine tune the length once I get my soft goods. Also got my t-straps and bridge covers attached. Not thrilled with the bridge covers but have plenty of material to give it another go.
  12. Just heard from KS that my helmet will be shipping next week. Picking up some material for the bridge covers on the chest/back armor and am going to get that all assembled in the next few days.
  13. Thanks for posting this guys! I'm on this part of my build right now, and this is very helpful...
  14. Thanks! The boots are from MXPXRobbie in the trade forum, and I'm very happy with them. GOing to look around for some other foot lockers before I settle on the one I purchased. Not liking the durability of it, so will likely upgrade. I actually have really enjoyed the hand sewing. It's not pretty, but has been something to calm me down at night at my kitchen table while watching TV. My stitching leaves a lot to be desired, but it should be functional, which is all I'm concerned with. Just have to sew the T-straps, shoulder straps, side straps for the chest/back, and a few things on the belt.
  15. Started getting the straps cut today for the thigh boxes. No pics yet, but hope to have more done tomorrow. Also moved around some of my Biker Scout collectibles in my Star Wars collection and thought I'd share.
  16. Yeah, I think everything but the helmet will fit in this, but was planning on a helmet bag from Trooperbay anyways. I dyed the 2" elastic using a some tea for that off-white look.
  17. Got my straps attached to the knees. Hand sewed the Velcro onto the elastic and riveted the top portion. Do any of the rivets need to be painted white? Also, picked up a storage box for my armor at Walmart today. Hoping to sew some more straps this weekend. Getting close to early August, which is when KS said my helmet would arrive.
  18. Not much of an update but I did practice hand sewing, which I haven't done since 6th grade home economics class, and seemed to get through it ok. Going to start sewing up my straps in the next few days.
  19. Is it ok to use 2" quick release clips for the belt attachment in the back? I attached the belt material to the belt with a single rivet on either side and have the clips safety pinned on there now. With the TD on, you can't really see anyway.
  20. Glued the shims into the belt buckle. And got my awesome blaster from NegativeEleven today and installed the holster on the boot.
  21. Ended up having enough scrap plastic from when I trimmed the belt boxes. Glued the belt and am letting it dry overnight. Also created the shims for the rivets on the knees and the snap plates for inside the belt Buckle. Hoping to get some more done on the belt in the next day or so. Not going for Lancer, but really hoping to join the legion with this costume.
  22. I still have some scrap metal For Sale sign left…anyone think this would work OK for supporting the rivets inside the knees? Was also thinking of using two small pieces for the male snaps that get attached inside the belt buckle. I believe PandaTrooper used rivets to attach those to some scrap ABS, so I'm thinking I can do the same with this material.
  23. Was able to attach the clips and finish the TD this afternoon. Also cut out the strap holes on the drop boxes and belt buckle. Just have to refine them a bit more. And was able to pick up a few yards of off white 1 1/2 " off white webbing today. Picked up some snaps at Joann's today as well. Hoping to get to the rest of the belt this week.
  24. I'm gonna look around today and see if I find any, but will try the tea route if I strike out. Thanks!
