Thanks mate. LOL. No the muzzel break still needs finishing Need to do some filling before I can finish it

Had a feeling that was the case but I wanted to clarify as it was being debated over a beer last night! Anyway, there has been a little more progress today.

Well I haven't had a lot of time to work on this recently fir various reasons but will try and get some more done over the weekend One question I have relates to the DC-15x and the CRL. We know that scout's in the original Battlefront game carried the DC-15x Marcel's masterpiece is testiment to that, there is evidence of sniper scouts in the new Battlefront game and with the number of scouts now building them increasing is it time to have it as an optional weapon on the CRL? That maybe a cat placed firmly amongst the pigeons and the discussion may not be for this thread but I'm interested to know?

Hi Victor. If you go to the "Lancer Deployment Request" thread in 501st Pathfinder HQ you will find all the instructions you need along with the current Lancer CRL
-
A bit more progress. Inner barrel is now brazed into place.
-
Congratulations and welcome

Have made some more progress on the barrel. Nearly everything is brazed into place now and I have rounded off those edges
-
I've been studying the screen grabs of the rifle again and an wondering whether the detailing on the barrel behind the rear sight is just that detailing (.i.e. similar to the slots on the muzzle) or whether they are cut outs? It's difficult to tell! Has anyone got any ideas? Here's a image of the area in question:

After discussing the barrel with Marcel I have built up the inside of the square edges using brazing rods in order to allow me to round them off a bit more. Fingers crossed it works
-
Thanks mate gonna try my hand at no flux low temp brazing soon!?!
-
Spent some time recently working on the barrel and here are the results so far.

Congrats and welcome

Hi Marcel. I hadn't thought about the spikes, very good point! (Pardon the pun!) I'm trooping at legoland on Monday but maybe there as a punter on Sunday so will keep an eye out for you

Haven't managed to get much done on this recently due to family commitments and other projects but I have managed to source an MG42 bipod Hoping to make some good progress on the barrel in the coming weeks so watch this space

My flight suit is based on a dickies. :-) You'll need to modify the collar and remove the pockets but they are a good base suit imo.

Hi mate. Sorry didn't see the forest photos d'oh. Yeah the chest armour looks to be better positioned in those

Welcome to the BS.N mate PM sent.

Hi mate. Looking good I'd agree with DART about the drop boxes from what I can see in the photo via my phone they are a little low. They need to sit mid way betwen the thigh elastic and the belt. Also make sure they are level. The left one dips towards the front in the photo. DART as mentioned the bicep and forearm armour. In the photos it has twisted round and dropped. both bits need to align with the centreline of the shoulder armour. When I did mine I got the spacing right and then imagined I had ironed a crease down the sleeve (much like you would on a formal shirt). I then stitched my velcro patches along this line. Oh and I added press studs to the velcro patches for extra security. Just one other thing the chest armour looks to have ridden up a little increasing the gap between the bottom of the pouches and the belt.

Nice job on your build mate. Being particularly picky I have a couple of things: your pouches are a little too close together and are hiding the ribs on the bund. You need to watch the forearm and bicep armour it seems to have slipped round in the photos they need to line up with the centreline of your shoulder armour when your arms are by your sides - press stubs and velcro will help sort that out. The other thing is (and I know Mickey said he preferred it) but your drop boxes could do with lowering. They need to sit half way between your belt and the thigh elastic. Nothing major

Hi Howard. I've been getting the can't connect to forum message pop up whenever I use tapatalk here and other forums. I think its just a compatability issue because it doesn't seem to stop me from using the forum. Unless its stopping you from actually using the forum I wouldn't worry about it :-)
-
Hmmm! Thats an idea I imagine I can get something similar here in the UK!? I have a look around.
-
Thanks mate I'll have a go at scratch building the bipod too!
-
Would you be able to provide some close up photos of the components? What did you make it out of?
-
Out of the box the collar will not meet the Lancer CRL but it is not difficult to modify. The dickies coverall I used had a similar collar. All I did was unpick 2-3" of the stitching along the edge of the collar from the point. I then remade it so that the it was leave all the way round. I then used one of the pockets I took off to form the strap across the front of the neck. I'll post some photos to try and show what I mean :-) The red line indicates the approx. Shape of the original collar. Don't let my long winded description put you off it was straight forward to do

Hi mate. Great job :-) Feels good to complete your first build doesn't it!? I'm a perfectionist so I'm nit picking but I would move your pouches out just a touch so that you can see all the ribs on the bund (although it may just be your stance in the photo), your drop boxes could do with levelling up as they seem to be lower at the back than the front and velcro patches or push studs will help to prevent the forearm and bicep armour from slipping out of position As I say I'm nit picking! Hope this helps?
