Thanks. I think the forearms and biceps sit better now. I’ll add velcro and poppers to keep them in place, and look into that left pouch, ta

Other than confirming the biceps and forearms, and my drop boxes riding a little high - there's nothing else immediately obviously wrong for a lancer submission?
-
They've twisted a little because they're not firmly secured, but if they look better I'll attach some poppers.

This is how they were at their worse. I then bent the edges of the biceps so they hugged the arm a little more closely. But on my first troop they did flare out a little on some of the photos I saw.

Cheers, yea I haven’t got much space to play with. I’ll post some pictures up tomorrow. Ta

I'm having problems with my forearm and bicep armour positions. The biceps keep flaring out or clipping the forearm armour. I was wondering what the ideal position should be. Studying the film they're all over the place. I've already had my armour cleared so they're not too bad, but I'm now looking to meet Lancer standards - so I'm questioning what the ideal position should be.

Scout Bag Items Sourced

I purchased some EAO 31 series lens and push button switch. They don't look bad, a better match than the Saia Burgess switches I planned to use. The buttons a little bit overkill (you can easily achieve the same affect for less money), but I'm sucker if I think it's a found part. -

Another interesting thing is this appears to be the first time they've included the button surrounding the lense. Previously for every other rank bar I've studied, they've only ever used the lense. So using something different for that centre switch could be just another departure from the norm. If you go back to the Snowtrooper rank example the middle button is clearly smaller than the other two. In the Mandolarian the centre button seems to be similarly sized. That Mandolarian centre button also doesn't appear to have those indents to allow the lense cover to snap firmly in place, the centre button appears to be relatively smooth. -

I agree with the principle. I don't have any EAO 31 lenses to hand (but I'll look into getting some), but I have the ones I believe they used in ANH. The lense insert is a couple of millimetres smaller. That middle 'button' looks the same size as the lense, so I don't believe it could be the just insert. It also seems to be the height of the lense in the push button surround. -

Not trying to sound like a negative nelly. I disagree. I believe the centre 'button' is designed to look like a lense cream insert but that would be too small. The centre 'button' appears to be the same size as the red lenses. I reckon the centre button is just a piece of resin, or some such. I like the idea of the nail, but I think it's more counter sunk. On a different note, I believe the D ring is roughly 60cm or 2.25 inches wide and not 50cm or 2 inches, because it is wider than the webbing of the bag - which is 2 inches. I don't think the fasteners for the strap and the attachment for the rank are chicago screws because you see both sides of these and they are flat headed. I suppose this is all to do with 'how far do you want to go'. 50cm / 2 inches D ring has a nice snug fit and chicago screws can be easily removed. Have my bag and belt, just waiting for D rings and push buttons to come from China -
I was just discussing this with a colleague. Thanks very much.

Hi guys, I noticed the CRL has changed to include an optional requirement for the holster, to include vents. I'm currently in the process of assembling a costume and I'm aiming for Lancer status. I was wondering if anyone had reference from a screen used costume for these vents, so that I may emulate them correctly on mine. Thanks

Dang you and your cheap options. Does anyone have a similar option for the UK? Thanks

I was wondering how people attach their lens to the lid visor. At the moment my girlfriends lens is attached with hot glue, this was fine at the start. But we're having to reattach it every couple of months. I'm not a particular fan of hot glue as it's messy. I was wondering what other people do, as I'm looking for a more permanent solution. Thanks

I'm right in thinking I 'just' need to cut a groove between the tread. Does this project around the front, or is that left plain, where the tread stops? I understand the heel is a little more intricate, luckily I have a pair of boots I can copy for that Thanks

Cheers, thanks for the speedy reply

I've just bought a cheap pair of work boots, can someone please confirm if these are suitable for a standard biker scout, and if with the relevant mods they would also be suitable for Lancer status. Thanks, Phil

Yes, I can understand that

I'm in the process of upgrading my fiancee's knee armour from SC to Chef. I'm wondering about the width of the elastic, especially for the lower and wider elastic. The CRL states the elastic should be 25mm, at the moment our slot for the elastic is 20mm, but could be widened to 25mm. The only screen reference I can find for the elastic looks to be approximately half the width of the slot. The reason I'm asking is that we're prepping to go for Lancer. I'm not sure if the reference I have seen is the exception to the rule, or it's folded over, or something else that I'm not aware of. Cheers.

Thanks guys the butt flap pictured is considerably wider than our existing one. I understand the size will be different but, this is what I was after - the proportions. Thanks. Dead links, on the first page in all but one of the pictures (I don't know I'm new here and I cause trouble in my first post ) http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=4450

There seem to be a number of dead links here. I've recently assembled a biker scout costume for my girlfriend which has passed basic clearance. I'd like to revise it, with regards to achieving Lancer status. Whilst at it I wish to create a second jump suit, as a spare for multi day troops. With an eye to higher accuracy can someone please comment and indicate the proportions for the butt flap and thigh suede, and the position of the elastic. Or post a pic of an ideal previously cleared lancer. I believe our current butt flap is too narrow, and I'm not sure the existing elastic is in the right place. Many thanks Phil
