  1. My helmet so far - now extra Groovy
  2. after reading through some of the threads here I'm led to believe there should be 8-9 vents indents on the back right of the helmet. Some Screen used helmets have a wider vent on the far left, but I'm going with all equally sized vents as can be seen on the new EFX helmets and in some ROJ screenshots. On the MLC helmet, there are only 7 - so my intention is to recreate another on the left. I have marked it out in pencil, and also marked the approximate centreline on the helmet. On all reference images i have seen, the vents are always to the left of the centre. comments on whether this looks right or wrong appreciated!
  3. Hey everyone, I made a start on my MLC helmet. First off big ups to Mardon for a fine piece of work. I decided to mod the bolt covers, the resin parts that came with the kit are designed to be glued over the bolts and sit raised, however photos of the screen used helmets show that the bolt covers sit flush with the side of the visor. I traced the bolt cover on each side of the helmet. Then i dremelled out the traced circle to the same depth as the original hole, smoothing the edges with some 200 sandpaper. I created a new bolt cover using 2mm ABS sheet, as the original resin covers were still a bit too fat for the recess. heres the result, a nice flush bolt cover
  4. Thanks jase. They look good!
  5. Thanks guys. the price is in New Zealand Dollars, $80 NZD converts to about $65 USD, but agree that its still alot for a pair that wont pass for lancer. The other thing is that the smallest size they come in is still a little big for me. Thanks for the input!
  6. I found these locally but I'm not 100% convinced, i thought I'd post a pic here and get your opinions? Thanks in advance!
  7. thanks, sounds like a plan. I just re-read the Lancer Requirements and its stated there: Two pouches made to a suitable scale for your size that are made from a white heavy weight cloth ( off white if using off white drop box/ side armour straps), they should be touching chest armour and slightly overlapping belt. lesson learned - more research before posting questions
  8. I'm wondering if anyone has (or has looked at) scaling down the pouches to make them more proportioned to smaller folk? I'm not talking a huge amount, say 90% of the available template size? and if this is done, would this have any impact on achieving Lancer status? Thanks!
  9. looks good! and thanks for posting the pics - will be helpful once my kit arrives
