  1. ok cheers. I started making some clips but never included them. I'll paint them up and update when I have new photos. The painting of the rivets is an easy fix too.
  2. Thanks Marcel! So the painting of the knee rivets and the TD clips have just been added to the Lancer CRL this year?
  3. heya guys, any feedback yet? cheers!
  4. I wanted to have it matched to my armour, so when i sent it to the paint shop, i also sent one of my SC armour bits for them to match the paint colour too. in addition, i would have had it repainted after doing all the mods to it anyway.
  5. Hi guys, sorry been distracted of late. here are the pictures requested. I took a photo of the pouches next to the drop box straps under natural light. the first photo shows the colour difference, so i jumped the gun and dyed them a sight off white to match. hopefully they are ok now, please let me know what you think. before: After: here is the TD greeblie fixed: and the upper arm pieces side by side showing the T-bits: let me know if you need any more pictures. Thanks!!
  6. The pouches are slightly off white, it seems that in different light conditions they show whiter. The same material was used on the shoulder bridges. I'll take a photo of he pouches next to the belt webbing to show how close they match. I was thinking I may need to lightly dye the drop box straps, but will let you review first. Yes it seems I have some repairing to do on my td greeblie. The material is faux suede, not real suede. Updated pics to come.
  7. just uploaded all the photos of individual parts, cheers.
  8. here are the pics off individual parts. please excuse the cat hair!

  10. approved!! Thanks once again to everyone here for their advice and comments.
  11. the helmet isn't an MLC, as on the MLC face and visor shield are cast as a single piece. for the indentations, I would be very careful, as hel0wrench suggested, be aware of how thick the fibreglass of the helmet is. i added one indentation to my MLC helmet by marking out in pencil, then using the sanding drum on my dremel and finishing off with sandpaper. http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=9910
  12. nice one. good to meet up just let me know if you have any questions
  13. I'd base your weathering on the screengrabs in the gallery, the CRL suggests 'light weathering' which would be based on the ROJ Endor troopers. I would however also like to see a Sand-Scout done one day
  14. ya sure know how to make a Trooper Blush, MJ. here is my finished cummerbund and pouches. I had some webbing sewn in to the front top, these clip into my shoulder straps on the chest plate and prevent the chest armor riding up over the top of the bund. once clipped in i can adjust those straps so the pouches sit snugly at the bottom of the chest armour.
  15. I think i'll take a cm off the bottom of each shoulder bell. what does everyone else think?
  16. Cummerbund and pouches finished today. thats all my soft parts done except for the vest. heres my test fit. some tweaks needed but overall pretty happy with everything so far.
  17. Congrats! all that hard work has paid off
  18. now to connect the webbing to the plastic belt. I didn't want to just use a rivet - however I will end up adding one for Lancer approval. I used the same method as my other strapping, with 2 loops made from ABS sheet and a 50mm Tri-glide. I sewed some 50mm elastic onto the end of the webbing. this will be hidden from view inside the belt, and mean that the belt will give a little when I am wearing it. because the centre back of the belt is essentially fixed due to the snap connecting the belt and the TD, its good to have and alternative adjustment at each side. heres the complete rear belt assembly:
  19. Thanks patrik after a test fit, I found the magents - even with 4 of them - weren't safe enough to hold the TD. it was still prone to being pulled off or caught on something and yanked free. My solution was to replace the top 2 magnets with snaps, and this makes a much more secure connection. here is the final butt-bracket - it has become arather complex piece! the top 2 snaps connect to the inside of the TD. the centre snap secures it to the belt, and the 2 snaps on the sides are for the drop box webbing connections. heres the bracket connected to the inside velcro closure with a single snap dome, simply to hold it in place. the bracket then fits into the TD. the webbing forthe belt boxes snap in to the back of the bracket and hidden from view.
  20. thanks Alex, yes this was pointed out to me already so i am changing it to 5 stripes instead of 6.
  21. Heres an update to my boots. I didnt want to fix my holster on until my blaster was finished. I had the hand guard replaced with steel and used the magnet trick to secure it. I wanted to share my solution to prevent the dreaded holster sag. I followed in the footsteps of other builds and added some leg straps to hold the holster against the leg. I made it removable for those troops where i go blasterless, the boots will be more comfortable without the straps. The straps are 25mm webbing with velcro to secure them. they are held to the inside of the boot with a 40mm wide velcro strip. The strip on the vinyl was sewn in before the holster was riveted in place. there are 2 snaps at the top to secure the top strap to the top support for the holster. lastly, I added a snap plate to the bottom inside support for the holster. this snaps on to the neck of the boot, which essentially connects the base boot with the holster and stiffens the whole side of the boot. I tried them on and i can still walk and move freely in them with this connection. Yay, boots officially done!
  22. My Jump Suit is finished! the Seamstress is my mun-in-law. I think she's done a fab job. The neck is 2.5 inch wide with velcro closure. the riding patch and butt flap are Faux Suede, with 2 inch wide elastic side straps. Butt flap is attached at the waist with velcro. here are some pics, appreciate any comments or suggestions for tweaking.
  23. Well my armour build is about 90% complete, but i need my Soft parts before final fit of the chest, back and belt. My build thread is here. I started with a paper pattern for the cummerbund and test fitted for size. The pouches are 5 x 6 inches x 1.8 inches deep, resized to fit my frame. I mocked these up in paper as well to test fit with my chest and belt.
