I know it doesn't seem like it but I have been researching for months. I did rush when I first started buying last week but I am calmed down now, I promise...LOL. I think I just got excited really fast!!! After all this is EXCITING!!! The blaster is the only mistake I think I have really made, but I am going to try to fix it. PS - almost made a helmet mistake too...really glad I have you guys to whip me back into shape

I agree, ask him and I am sure he will correct the problem. Here is a direct quote from the email he sent me: "Both options above comes with a chin cup, snout greeblie, 2 temple bolt covers and a set of nuts&bolts"

Unfortunately yes, or so I am told. I was just cautioned about them last night and decided to go with the MLC. Placed my order this morning. Good luck! Hopefully folks here can help you fix it up nice. Everyone here has been amazing to me and I am sure they will be to you also.

I am definitely going to bite the bullet and buy a new one...but I have this one now, I might as well hack it up and see what I can do.

The MLC kit also comes with the bolt cover. I may get a new snout greeble later down the road but the one it comes with will work for now. I plan on using like a mesh screen or window screen for the air intakes so air can still flow into the helmet. So decals and the lens is really all I need. I got the decals covered with that site posted above....no I just need to decide what to do about the lens. I had no idea we could use green...

Ya know, I am looking hard at the two photos, and is handle size the only thing from keeping it in the holster? I am not the most amazing craftsman in the world but I am wondering if I could cut the bottom of the handle and sand it round to make it more like the toy. Then it might fit right? Do you guys think this would be difficult or even possible to do?

So the scout lens is dark green, not black? Totally looks black in any photo I have seen, LOL.

It did come in a white cardboard box and I got it on ebay. Here is the photo from the auction, I can post a photo of the one I got a little bit later but it is the same thing I think.

I would imagine the actual toy is lightweight, but man oh man my resin version is not light at all! LOL Great to know it will fit though, huge sigh of relief!!!

Thanks for the advice. I am actually in contact with MLC right now hope to have one ordered before the week is over. Outside of paint and glue I don't think there is anything else that needs to be done to the MLC is there? And where are you getting your lens and decals? I am told they do not come with the MLC?

Got it! I actually saw that in the reference library. Anyone know if the Kenner will even fit the SC holster? Or can it at least be modded to fit?

He sold the helmet to another 501st member out from under me. I didn't even know I had competition. Soooo, I am back to square one. No Helmet and No Idea what to do

I bought a resin kit online for about $50. I have cleaned it up and about to paint it so I went online looking for reference photos and I am realizing that I most likely have a resin cast of the Kenner pistol. Am I going to get denied into the 501st with this pistol? Is this going to even fit in my holster? Did I get ripped off? Signed, A Very Frustrated Future TB

He is asking $180 shipped with insurance, tracking, and delivery confirm. I could have it by next week. How hard would it be to fix exactly. I am in contact with KS, but how hard are those kits to put together? I am new to all this and I just don't know what to do.

Hey I value your opinion, otherwise I would not ask. I am just floored at how hard it is to find a helmet.

Here are some more photos. The seller swears up and down this is not a rubies and that it is screen accurate. I just want a good deal, quick turn around, and a smooth transaction. I am having such a hard time locating a helmet compared to how simple everything else was. The good deals are turning out to be a wash...and I feel frustrated.

Thanks for the info, although I never got a PM from you. The problem with the 501st forums is that you have to be a member to look at them which doesn't help those of us trying to become a member. I found a 501st member (or so he says) on eBay selling a BS helmet. I am attaching photos. Seems legit to me, any questions I should ask him before I buy it or should I avoid this like the plague too? Thanks in advance for the help guys

Hello everyone...I am very new here as you can see. I have been combing the forums for weeks though as I am trying to learn from each of your posts. I have a jedi costume but have decided to join the dark side and make a BS as my first 501st costume. I have order just about everything (flight suit, SC armor kit, parts to make boots, gloves, and a blaster kit). I have inquired from a few people on these forums about a cummerbund and pouches and I am awaiting an answer. But man oh man am I having a hard time finding a helmet. Being a first timer and new to costuming I am trying to avoid a rubies like the plague. I have given myself a 2 month deadline from today and I just don't think a Rubies would let me meet that timetable. The only other helmet I have been able to find a fiberglass kit from overseas that is posted out on the bay (I don't think I am allowed to link it). My questions are: 1) Does anyone know anything about these? Are they any good? Are they priced well? Does it really take over a month to get it? 2) Is this really my only option right now? I am not asking people to google search for me...but believe me I have looked and asked around and I am just not seeing ANY other options. Any of course if I missed anything please let me know Cheers! And thanks for the help!!!
