  1. Nice! Ordered a set for my SC helmet
  2. Okay guys I have been thinking about doing a zombie bikerscout for halloween so I got a bunch of seconds from SC. Its tough to tell from the pictures but the parts are bubbled and different colours from different shipments of plastics. The helmet parts were different colours as well, and since it was only going to be a zombie biker I wasn't too worried. Here is the progress so far. The complete set of seconds I glued the helmet together with e6000 glue. I glued the two sides together then the top. I also glued the face to the visor as it was pretty gappy without the glue. I filled the crack in the back and the large gap beteween the side pieces and the top (Once I finished painting the helmet with the gloss you could see I didn't do a very good job and I might touch up the filler later) I cut out the eye hole and the ears with a dremel though next time I think I might use a coping saw. I used primer then about five coats of gloss spray paint I used screen door mesh for the ears - screws still need to be painted grey aerator is stock from SC still needs painting and attachment I just taped it on for the picture Fishhook and stickers from Trooperbay.com (most are still in the mail) Back crack is filled but filler at the very bottom was still slightly wet and the paint cracked. Overall its looking pretty good. I still have to; fill the crack on the back I have to sand out a run that I got on my fifth coat of paint paint and fill the visor screws attach the last of the stickers when they arrive add foam to the inside paint and add the steel aerator tip Let me know what you guys think, I don't see many SC helmets around.
  3. Hey guys I received an old SC helmet today, its the one with the large seam down the back. Its unassembled and I'm just wondering if anybody has any directions for this
  4. Spray glue seems to be working so far but i think ill use gloo with my next pair. As for the flap I think it's right just a little more angled. Also with the toe stretching I misaligned the flap when putting it on slightly but it was already stuck down. I think it's a pretty good first attempt anyways. Troopable for sure!
  5. hmm wish I would have seen this post a little earlier. I just finished gluing my enitre flap down....

  7. So after searching multiple stores, walmart, sellers shoe warehouse, shoe outfitters, marks workwearhouse, Zellers and numerous stores in the mall I found the boots I needed at my very last stop payless shoes! It was about two hours if looking buy I got a good boot even though it cost $70. I then bought white Maine vinyl from the local fabric store $25/meter. Though it was 50% off with a membership so I'm now a fabricland member. Total cost for membership and vinyl $28 I bought shoe gloo and I have a 3m spray glue for applying the vinyl. I'll let you know how it works. So far the tutorial is very simple to follow and after about two hours work the toes are glued on. I used a heat gun for warming up the vinyl and I went super fast but I did melt my first one. The calves are next. Just need to buy the heavy duty thread and Velcro. By the end of the day I think they will be completed. The boot The prep and cut Heat gun vinyl stretch and pinning the gluing Toe Trimming toe trim applied testing upper leg fit finished product does have the two sewn lines on the flap... it been a long times since I have sewn anything and I think I might make a new set and use these as backups. Only thing left is cutting out the soles but, I think that can wait as I don't even have my armor yet
  8. Thanks for the reply. Guess I'll keep looking Ps. What's AFAIK?
  9. Hey guys/gals, I'm looking at making my scout boots and I have a couple questions. First off I looked everywhere today to find a pair of boots with the gum coloured sole and I have no luck unless I wanted to pay $150. That being said I do have a pair of black rubber boots with a gum colored sole. From what I recall rubber boots are not allowed but, what if you covered the boots with white vinyl following the boot tutorial would they be allowed?
  10. Much like you I have been snooping for ages but haven't been too committed until now. I've been researching and just ordered sc armor and a KS assembled helmet. Can't wait to get it.
  11. Sorry thread hijacking here. For curiosity sake what would be best for 5'8" 150-160lbs individual
