  1. I have been using light to medium weight suede (real leather product from Tandy). It has a little flex for placement and is washable, but I line dry the jumpsuit rather than machine dry. Also it can NOT be washed with any other color item because the suede dye bleeds into everything. It does clean well enough though. I do not wash a lot.
  2. It looks like it got knocked sideways though, like it has seen some trauma. I know everyone keeps asking me for patterns for my work and all I can say is look at my gallery pictures and make your own. It is one thing to make a copy for ones own use, but quite another to make copies to sell. No wonder George is so adamant about licensing.
  3. We're not worthy. We're not worthy.... Mike fantabulous.
  4. Looks good Mad. Where did you find them?
  5. SO I think I will find some camo material readily available and go from there. With most of the BARC being CG it is going to find something on the market (that we can afford) that matches the CG version. With that being said, I will focus on the idea I have in my head and the suggestions Mike made.
  6. Did we get a finalization on the fabric for the soft armor parts? I know someone was working on a run of camo fabric, but haven't heard about that in a while. I am still up to my eyeballs in scouts so I haven't been able to get back to the BARC project yet. WE haven't done a lot of discussion on what we want in the soft parts and I would appreciate a little help there in exactly what we want to do. Camo shirt and pants or one piece flight suit? Corset-like midsection with strapping for gear/pouches? Or a vest-like midsection for gear and pouches? Also, I was looking at the CG artwork and the pants seem to be like camo chaps over an brownish to olive drab body glove. The saddle section gives that appearance to me. I will start working on patterns after we have a consensus of what is wanted.
  7. As always, excellent work. Great demonstration.
  8. Why is it that the Artisans always get this terrible ailment? Man I feel your pain. Haven't had to have any joints replaced yet, but hate what it does and people don't realize how much pain it is until they see the gnarled hands. Unfortunately by then you've been dealing with it for years. Anyway, hope the project takes the mind off the pain. You truely do suffer for your art and what you do is definitely an art form in it's highest level. My hats off to you.
  9. Happy birthday man. I got a daughter your age.

  10. I did two things. I made the codpiece shorter and added stabilizer and batting. The shorter codpice does not go as far between the legs as the longer diaper style so it does not crease. The elastic strap is all that goes between the legs. The stablizer and batting makes the piece stiffer. Kind of like the protection on a catcher's chest and groin guard. The triangular section starts just below the waistline and goes just to the crotch, but not between the legs. The bottom of the triangle is less than 3 inches wide and the top is no wider than the width of the 7 front ribs of the cummerbund. My ribs are about 1.25 inches wide so my top codpiece is about 9 inches wide to 9.5 inches wide.
  11. Love the courtsey at the end of your pictures. You have come a long way from the first shots we saw.
  12. D-CON man!! You gotta do the big East Coast convention over labor Day weekend and show this stuff off. Altlanta is calling.... www.dragon.org To purchase tickets .., click on the image below to visit the Dragon*Con Store! August 31 - September 3, 2007
  13. The set would come unpainted, ...correct? OMG is not big enough to compliment your artistic genious. You and MonCal are about the best armorers I have seen. The question is production. Can you pull off mass production (small "mass" as in BSN and 501st) or is this going to be entirely limited edition?
  14. Twill is a good choice. Many utility type uniforms use this material because it takes a nice press and wears strongly. It keeps it shape and size after the initial wash and it pretty durable. I have been using the twill myself in cummerbunds and vests. It holds the colors nicely too. Looking forward to seeing this project completed.
  15. OMG I am totally speechless. It is better than the first one. Are you sure you don't work for Lucas Arts?
  16. I appreciate your service. Best to you for getting it all back together. War is hell and unfotunately it looks like a hell we3 will all be in for a while.

  17. Nice work Frank. Your boots are done too. Just gotta get on the soft stuff next week or so.
  18. Beautiful!!!! I love to see guys with real talent here. Your weapon is impressive.
  19. Looking good on your mini scout trooper. Can't wait to see it completed.

  20. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. That makes 3. Very proud of my guys.
  21. Make sure you post you in your complete get up. I hope the new one fit you right.

  22. Estimation of Cost per set for material only. So basically $17 per yard and the stuff will probably take 5 for the undersuit and about 5 for the cummerbund and pouches at a cost of roughly $170 per set just for the material alone.
  23. Happy Birthday!!!

  24. Happy 45. I am 48 today.
