The sanding goes super fast and its really not a lot of bondo work. Check my thread if you like my colors that I matched to the colors from MB, i have the H Depot color mix that I used posted. just get 2 sample size of the base coat and 1 each of the green and brown.

Looks great. Similar to what I did, but i didn't sand off the foam flap, I just left it. Putting velcro on the back?

Got my card, thanks a bunch!!!!

I would love one, I don't have anything to trade though:(

I am aware that I have a few upgrades to make. But I have been accepted. now to fine tune it. Thank you to all of the people who helped and Mr Bungle for taking the time to make a quality kit that even this new guy to costuming could put together with asking about 100 questions. And also thank you for all of the kind words of encouragement from this great community.

Very nice, I wish i didnt have army training. I would have loved to go to that con.

I am waiting to hear from my GML on what they think before I go making any changes...... That being said, I am getting a balaclava, removing the button on the back of the pants, thinking of some kind of velcro on the cod, raising up the thigh boxes a little bit.( I have a small issue with this since I only have so much room between my knee armor, thigh pocket and waist). I will put the tank stripe on very soon which I was thinking of using the thin black tape that they use on white boards or for marking custom paint jobs on cars, that would make the straight lines easier. As for the cummerbund pouches, I have seen many different variations of these. Mine are based on the foam pouches by strofmos, I wrapped them in cotton duck cloth and painted them. might have added 1/8th inch to their size, which I thought would not be too much of a difference. For the biceps, I will am thinking of how I want to do them. I am thinking about taking an equal amount off each side maybe .25 inch. Right now I am taking a little bit of a break while I wait on my GML. I'm researching my next costume and will have that finished before I go hacking into these bicep pieces. I will weather after I get accepted and get everything right.

I will be cleaning up the belt and pockets. I didn't see the black line in the crl and haven't seen a ref pic with one. Waiting to hear from gml. And I am 5'7-5'8"

I didnt do the chrome and masking method. I did use some light misting with some black. I will do more weathering when i get a chance and some tan paint. I am noticing that some parts are naturally seeing some wear and tear like the shin and toe area. I really want to make my bicep pieces smaller first.

Thank you. I have only worn it 2 times and I am working on a list of improvements that I need to make as well as adjustments. I will be playing with those drop boxes a little.
-
I didnt think it was a must have. When I get brave and get the tape I will be putting one on.
-
cool, thanks. Not so easy to find in the states. Are they easy to flatten out? I just wrestled a lexan shield in to my helmet. tried to PM you Boro but your mailbox was full.
-
So a little bit darker paint on the one left bicep greeb to match the others is what your saying? no prob. and roger on the balaclava, I just need to order it. these are great suggestions and i will make it happen. I don't see them stopping me from getting accepted though, do you?
-
I think I might be done for now. Waiting on acceptance. Have a few ideas for improvements in the future. Any comments?

Anyone have any leftover green mirror tint? or green lens? the shield i ordered in lexan and not going to work. I am looking for some green mirror tint that is in the US, otherwise I will have to get from ebay in the UK.

first troop went well, several pic requests. had to redesign the inside of my helmet due to pressure on my nose. That is now fixed. Had 2 minor repairs to make when suiting up. Make sure to carry some super glue in your trooping bag. next is to make my dc15L. I will make a wip once I get my research done on how i plan on doing it.

Waiting on a proper lens and some screen for the side vents and mark this helmet done.
-
Everything ok? You looked like you were getting real close to completing.
-
You are correct. I will have to go back in and make some changes and possibly repaint, no biggie. I have to re bondo my backplate due to some cracking. I also have to install the screen in the side vents and change out the lens. The one in it is just a quick fix, I'm waiting on a green lens to come in. I'm glad i trooped it at the con, most people don't even know the difference. Here are 2 pics I have from the con. Alot of Trek and Serenity fans there.

Almost finished

getting ready for a con tomorrow. I think its close enough for a test troop at a con. I know im about 95% done, so please go easy on the obvious things i need to get right, like missing thigh boxes and no camo on lid. Action shot time!!!!

I know this has been covered in a few other threads to some degree. I am looking for a quick US source for a lens. I have procrastinated and put off my research for lens material and now I am paying for it. My CB is just about done. If I can get this done right, i will be able to debut at a local Farpoint Convention this Saturday. I am hoping there is a quality method to get the lens right that I can source locally. Can you guys please help me with this so I can join your ranks and be official?

WOW, thats what you have been up to, I thought I might get done before you for a sec there. Looks perfect. One of the great parts of this costume. The camo can blend alot.
