  1. Or you charge old try for a swamp trooper. We have one of these in Alpine. http://www.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TX_swamptrooper
  2. Maybe this will help. http://studiocreations.com/howto/bikerscout/bike_armorforsale.html
  3. I just adjusted a flight suit I got from an army surplus store. It's not that hard.
  4. Need to fix a couple things on my KS bucket, namely the snout area. It has a sticker and frankly looks poor. Don't want to bother complaining to them about it and be put on a waiting list again. Looks like the aerator is just glued on. Any suggestions before I start tampering? Plan is to remove the sticker, paint the snout area and replace the aerator using a screw. Just hope my skills are up to the challenge. Will also be adding some extra padding and some dive lenses since I can't wear my glasses under the bucket.
  5. I'll have to do some research and wait for some extra funds, but thanks for the information. Hopefully we get a CRL rolling on this.
  6. For those following on the Legion boards, Matthew London (aka Grumpy) of the Ohio Garrison just got approval on a new type of Scout Trooper. Through hard work, perseverance and several denials, the Legion has now approved the Kashyyk Biker Scout. http://www.501st.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=84134 http://rs1291.pbsrc.com/albums/b557/grumpylindon/White%20Kashyyyk%20Biker/KASHYYYKBIKERFIGUREPACKAGEENDORFIGURE_zpsb2e04ee0.jpg~320x480 http://rs1291.pbsrc.com/albums/b557/grumpylindon/White%20Kashyyyk%20Biker/IMG_9415_zpse3d37b6b.jpg~320x480 I am so doing this one now!
  7. Knew you could do it! Happy trooping, Scout Brother!
  8. Mostly it's the front lens is too close and the glasses get smashed against my face. Very uncomfortable.
  9. I use Velcro and it works fine. I just have them attached to the chest piece.
  10. I wear glasses but can't have them on while the bucket is on my head and I would really like to be able to see while trooping. I have looked in to some ski and dive goggle inserts, just not sure if they will work being put into a TB helmet. http://www.amazon.com/SportCamZ-Univeral-prescription-snowboard-goggles/dp/B00P49L5IS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1431714873&sr=8-1&keywords=prescription+goggle+insert Anyone else with vision problems do this? Alternative suggestions? Or just suck it up and troop half blind?
  11. I just got my KS helmet. A few things I need to change, but overall very nice. Just expect it to take a lot longer than the quoted time frame. I ordered mind back in February and just got it earlier this week, and that was after contacting them. If you need to contact them, do it through Facebook. Likely you will never hear from an email.
  12. $150 USD for a flight suit? I've got military surplus stores where I've seen them for $10... You could try making it from scratch. Found this on the Mando site: http://www.amazon.com/Kwik-Sew-Mens-Coveralls-Pattern/dp/B002LN2RUU
  13. TB was my first costume. I have altered or replaced almost everything from what I originally got. I went through two helmets before making one that passed, and even that was a lousy Rubies that I barely replaced with a KS. I even got cleared with an inaccurate cummerbund, a flight suit with extra zippers and no flack vest (those have since been updated). I was trooping for years before I finally got everything cleared, and even then it still needed work. I thank my GML for being generous. If you're getting discouraged, just take a break. We've all been there. I'm still tweaking things and need a few upgraded parts. Nobody is rushing you so just take your time.
  14. Just remember to put the washer on the other end. It will keep everything together a lot better.
  15. Welcome, trooper! Glad you took the advice of seasoned scouts and had it help out. Good luck in the troops!
  16. Just got my KS yesterday. Overall pleased, but it looks like the decals will need to be replaces. Bolts are bulky, different from the original post. Sprayed a little bit for weathering and a bit tight on my face, but the sides of the head need more padding. Still, better than Rubies that I've trooped with for years.
  17. May depend on the Garrison, so just check first. I will be taking mine for a while unless they tell me otherwise.
  18. Definitely seeing similarities with these, thanks for sharing. May have to keep a look out for those at the thrift store.
  19. I've considered it, but not for these ones. I want to get something that looks good first, then make something functional.
  20. Okay, so I was wanting something a bit more to go with my Biker Scout. So, I present to you my dirt cheap electrobinoculars. Had issues with the camera so I wasn't able to get progress pictures. Body was a plastic container I got at the dollar store, visor from some moisture gatherers from the same place. Wooden dowels for the parallel lines, about $2 for that. Soda bottle lids for the eye pieces, some extra parts from cabinets for the buttons. Bottom of a Gatorade bottle used for the top detail, the lid for the lens cover. Lenses are from the tops of soda bottles. Strap was left over from making my cummerbund. Had two others made by using the same techniques. The one on the left started having paint flake off, but same stuff was used except straws instead of wooden dowels. Call it my prototype. Other one looks all right I think. A bit bulky, but the style works out. So what do you guys think of them? Not too difficult to make. Hot glue, sandpaper, some rivets and spraypaint.
  21. Side view of your knee looks like you have a few loose strings on your under suit at thigh level. Bucket seems a tad big for your build but that's just me nitpicking. You should get out on the woods and snap a few woodland photos like you're in the field.
  22. Get the second strap attached for the knees. That helps out a lot. A while after trooping my armor kept slow doing around so I got a $30 pack of sticky Velcro and started slapping it all over. Five years later I am still using it and my armor has stayed in place nicely.
  23. Here is a video I helped out with using my TB and someone else's in my Garrison. On a couple shots you can see the T-strip Todd is talking about. I used the Velcro on the inside of the bell myself. https://m.youtube.com/?#/watch?v=c-Fsx2_Z7cU No, it's not me on the bikes. A couple things to watch out for. We only used one real TB helmet, the other was a motorcycle helmet with white Duck Tape. I was the Sandtrooper with the pauldron and the Tusken Raider (both borrowed and I couldn't see anything). Note on the shoulder bell, we did end up losing one of his on the sand dunes and had to replace it...
  24. Yeah, originally I just had the one strap held on with with Velcro. Put the second one on for accuracy, but it really helps keep the knee armor up.
  25. I can see some skin under the helmet. Do you have a balaclava? And your detonator is on upside down. Easy fixes. Do you have any pics of the top of the backpack?
