  1. They sent an email to buyers back in September with what number your helmet is going to be. In fact reading it again, that's the email that said they'd be shipping on the 12th September. They must have meant the 12th September 2016!! Instead of continually sending out false shipping dates (think I'm on my 4th false alarm), why don't they just be up front and say "these won't be ready till..." I'd have a lot more respect for these guys if they actually kept to their word.
  2. We'll see if it holds true, this time. My last email from them said the helmets would be shipping on the 12th September.
  3. This is actuallt quite laughable now. Surely time to go on the 'Vendor Problems' list. It's one thing to be delayed, but another to continually give false shipping dates.
  4. Apparently, according to my last emai from 2nd September, they'll be shipping around the 12th September. Oh, hang on, no they won't, it's just another false alarm!
  5. Not quite as ready as we were told. Posted today (I thought they were at this stage in the pictures they posted a month ago?) "Just got asked about the Scout lids, i know many have messaged, but I just had time to reply on this and thought I would share so everyone knows where we are at.... Hi Andy, we are very close to releasing these now. As they stand I have all helmets trimmed, assembles and face/visors mounted. Most are in primmer, a few are in first coat of white. We have all the headliners and visor mounting greebliel/screws, I am waiting on the black stripes that are cut in vinyl to finish, the rest are water slide decals. So, we are having a huge push to clear this project up this week. Please stay tuned for more exciting info this week."
  6. I'll just chime in here and say what a great experience it was, buying from Jeff. Great communication, fast shipping with full tracking and very reasonable shipping costs to the UK. Other makers/suppliers please take note how to run a business.
  7. Weird for a factory produced item that there's so much variation between buckets. My Altmann's visor won't lift more than a third of the way up. If you forced it, it would snap at the pivots.
  8. So they've still got to be painted (was told by RS they had been painted about 5 weeks ago and was just waiting to cure), visors in,liners fitted, chin cup straps fitted, snouts painted/fitted and decals? Still could be a long wait, don't expect them by the end of the week!
  9. Thing is, they're not making any effort to update or report on what's going on. Lots of pictures, on their FB page, where they are working on other projects, but not a word on the BS helmets. There's messages posted asking for updates, but they're all unanswered. Really thought these guys were different, but unfortunately they are in danger of loosing all credibility and going the same way as a load of other unreliable prop makers.
  10. Sorry to quote from my own post from 1st August, but looks like that was a false alarm. Lack of updates is getting a little bit of a concern. If I was so far over the due date, I would be trying to keep everybody up to date on what's going on- especially with the cost of these. Anyone got any more news?
  11. From their site: 'Release date for the helmets will be May the 4th 2015. The date is set realistically and will be achieved.' I think the thing for prop makers to do is avoid making wild statements that are not true. If they do turn up next week, that will be 3 months over the due date.
  12. Double post.
  13. According to their Facebook site, one message says they will be ready next week. We'll see.
  14. I've got a large head which certainly reduces what is suitable. I have a LW bucket and whilst it is a superb helmet, it really is too small for me to wear for any length of time- I believe it to be pretty screen accurate in terms of size. With the Efx and RS being screen accurate sizing, I would think large heads will also struggle to wear it comfortably. I also had an Altmann, and whilst this is no where near as nice as the LW, it is bigger, so it was easy to get on and could be worn for long periods. My view, large heads = Altmann.
  15. Were due on May 4th, which never happened. Got an email 3 weeks ago saying it would be sent out the following week, that never happened. Latest on the RS site says they are 'nearly ready', what ever that means.
  16. My Altmanns visor only raises a couple of inches and goes no further without breaking the pivots, so it does appear at least some didn't get it right.
  17. When did you get the progress email? I've got 2 on order and havn't heard anything. Could you give me an idea what it says. Thanks
  18. Thanks again, Witness. That's exactly what I needed to know. There seems to be a lack of pictures looking directly down on the tank top. They always seem to be at an angle. I'm really looking to get this gear as screen accurate as possible, so this has been useful information.
  19. Thanks Witness. I'm familiar with the rivet set up from the real biker pictures floating around. I've actually glued the tank to the back armour using epoxy (there's enough of a step to allow this, plus an extra L bracket). I've then put in fake rivets (the rivets are actually in the right place, but not holding anything together- the attachment is purely through epoxy). I need to know whether the rivet on the tank top is central to the back armour (meaning the actual top piece will look off centre). Looking at your tank, you seem to have the top rivet so it is exactly in the middle of the armour (i.e. equal distance from either sides of the back armour).
  20. I'm putting my SC armour together and am about to attach the tank top to the hump. Question is, should the rivet be centred (i.e. equal distance from each side). If it is, this puts the tank top slightly off centre. Alternatively, if I have the tank top centralised, then the rivet is off centre (hope this all makes sense!!). I've looked at screen used pictures, but they all seem to be taken at an angle, so it's hard to make out.
