The liner is much thinner than most of the others that the Scout used to modify and tear out. It really depends on your hands and how cool you want them. The liner is unseen so nobody knows the difference. My 2 cents... \m/

Well that sure looks like an official and proper Scout to me. Nice going bro!!! \m/

Wow Jules... that looks frickin' awesome! Nice work!!! I cannot wait to see the finished product. \m/

That is Christian's rig (board name "cucblack"). He is not listed on our vendor list but this products are well done (though not always 'exactly' screen acurate). I have purchased numerous things from him with other outfits int he past. I like his Scout helmet decals as well. Shoot him a PM or email him directly via eBay. He is a cool guy. \m/

Just started building my SC kit
Grendel_Blitz replied to AdamS's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Good stuff - all this heat gun stuff. Never tried any of it before so I am learning. Adam - similar to what Chef mentioned, when I had the SC set years ago, the forearm and biceps pieces would bend/flex (slightly) around my arms once connected with the elastic. Also, since I had them connected with the elastic at all times, over time, the ABS would take the smaller shape. NOTE: I did not permanently affix the elastic strape on the armor - I used white duct tape to hold the straps on the inside of the armor through their appropriate slits so that I could adjust at times if need be. FYI if you do not want to mess with the heat gun option. \m/ -

Good luck man! Thanks for posting the pic as I have been curious to see the SC run lately! \m/ -
Give it HECK Fool! Should be a fun build for you. Also, does anyone know if Jeff pushed out his latest armor set since last year? If so, I have not seen it yet. He mentioned redoing some pieces that will be closer to the film set. Any feedback yet - if yes, how does it compare to the MC set? \m/

(I started this boot search because when I built my first pair of TB boots with the $35 work/hike boot, they took forever to break in and killed my feet for the first many troop outings - I wanted something that could be as comfortable as possible from the start with little break-in time) Junglie Scout, I looked at all the Palladium lines and like the shape of the sole but none of them has a sole close in rubber color - This was the closest but too dark: ...as I was trying to find a pair that I would not need to "color". I went as far as emailing the Palladium company and sent them images of the Sierra Sneaker as a sole reference and inquired about having them build a new sole color (and added that the SW community would buy them up ) - LONG SHOT, I KNOW but it does not hurt to try. It did buy these for everyday wear so I hope that they are comfy. Glad folks found the LUGZ decent as I am excited to try them out for my new TB boots. Will post my boots when they are built - prolly 2 weeks out from now. \m/

Wanted to chime in here. Received my gloves last week. Much better than my old motorcycle pair that needed the lining pulled out and suede added. Very nice!!! \m/

OK gang, I have done some exhaustive searches on all types of boots out there (vintage and current) and came across a few vintage that had similar soles to the Original Sierra (High Sierra??) Shoe Boots used for the Scouts and the Endor Rebels. My quest was to find a sole color and rubber type that was similar. I found an '80's vintage Guess Shoe/Boot image but could not find any to purchase. I also came across a 90's FUBU Hiker that has a good looking sole. Again, could not find any available. So here is the skinny... I came across these LUGZ that look to me to be the closest sole color and shoe/boot type that I have seen yet. Granted, a bit of work to the sides of the sole but then again, this is needed for most boots out there - yet with these you will not need to "fudge" the two tone soles. NAME: LUGZ Matrix Camel Canvas Hi Top Boots MMRXC239 Men Size Military Style [ eBay Link ] I just bought a size 12 US on eBay and these are being liquidated (as I researched other avenues to obtain them) so anyone that may be interested, I would suggest jumping on these now. LUGZ Web site no longer carries them so they are being pushed out of circulation. I will let you all know how they turn out as I have the Scout boot materials ready to go. Again, if you like these, you should bid on a size now because they will not be around for long (I predict). Good hunting brothers and sisters!!! ~ Grendel_Blitz \m/

LW / MLCv3 .....a comparison
Grendel_Blitz replied to Grantd1*'s topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Hey A'den, IMO - MLC's wear well. Of course, not as light as ABS or resin but I have not met many Scouts that complained about the bucket being too heavy to wear long-term. My 2 cents... Totally recommend it. ~ Grendel_Blitz \m/ -
black flight suit from ted's military.
Grendel_Blitz replied to irob972's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout HQ
Rock-on brother! Thanks so much. I will check into it as they look much better than the flight suites. Also, while on topic, it looks as it the vest/sleeves are integrated into the suite in the pictures that Army Scout took at the Magic of Myth set. Almost as if there is no true vest. LINK Has this been discussed here much? \m/ -

Hey LoneWolf, I did a quick search and nothing like what you are wearing is coming up on eBay. Any leads to brand name and/or online stores to find a pair? Thanks for the info! ~ Grendel_Blitz \m/ -
LW / MLCv3 .....a comparison
Grendel_Blitz replied to Grantd1*'s topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
The LW is bigger (like the Altmann's). I may need to find me a Lone Wolf bucket now. I liked how my Altmann's (past tense - ) fit my melon although the MLCv3 is still a great choice. Thanks for posting Grantd1*! \m/
