  1. Yeah, like I said I have MonCal armor from 2007 and have worn it for years inside and outside. It's still white as snow lol. These two guys have stuff in containers for a few months, one or two troops in (meaning literally a few hours of wear) and it's as yellow as can be. It HAS to be some kind of plastic flaw, I don't see how so many kits could individually go bad lol....
  2. Just another mention, we have yet one more member who had his MonCal Biker armor for only 6 months or so and it is COMPLETELY and utterly yellow. I have MonCal armor from 2007 and it is still as white as can be, I don't know anything about making this stuff but maybe there was something wrong with his last few batches of plastic? Or some type of change? No way could this be normal lmao....
  3. Thanks for helping Joe on his journey! He's already reached out to us at the local Garrison, sought out some additional advice and even popped out to a troop to meet us in person We pretty much gave him the same advice on the armors - SC is a better bet then KS although they are both nice. I have two KS helmets and always like them with the exception of the snout stuff which was a sticker and came right off (but easily fixed). I had a very negative experience with the KS cummberbunds though, the pockets were way to big and off center and there were no ab lines when I got it. This was like 2008 or so though, and I'm not sure if it's still like that. I recommended trying to commission a flight suit as opposed to build one for his first try if he's going for Lancer. Unless you have some sewing skills it's not as easy as just removing pockets because you have to convert the neck enclosure, add the suede thigh patches, butt patch and thigh elastic. I have some basic ability and was able to fumble through one for my wife a while back but it was not fun and not easy for a novice hahaha! And when all is said and done you honestly don't save a ton of money as opposed to purchasing one from a professional here We've encouraged him to continue research and ask questions here because it's THE place to get the info, and when he ultimately gets his armor we'll have some of our guys (including myself) meet up with him to help with assembly.
  4. Interesting - we have a member who waited 18 months for his AT-AT Driver and after only like six months it's turning yellow too! He's only worn it like 10 times and it's in a crate in the house climate controlled. Oh, and a few days ago at the troop like 9 parts just randomly fell off. We don't refer anyone to them anymore which is a shame because when I joined he was top notch.
  5. I use the Sterilite brand hard tote, it's got wheels and a handle. I keep my TB in it and can carry it easily like a suitcase: You can only find them at Walmarts, they come in blue, black or gray. I actually have pretty much all my costumes in one this size, I can fit TB, Shadow Scout, Custom Mando, Tie Fighter, Jedi, Armored Jedi, and all three of my sons in one (and all include helmet inside as well)
