WOW! Great job! I've been lax in following your build on this thread and I must say, everyone did a fantastic job. All the comments were spot on, and you did wonderfully following through on the suggested changes. If I may, I'd like to add my 2 cents (late in the game, I know) on a just some minor things I think you can do. First is the pin stripping on the tank. Your lines are a tad wonky. The vertical lines on the sides should be just that, vertical... straight up and down. Yours look a bit crooked. And they should fall on the sides of the tank more. And the horizontal line on top could stand to be a bit higher. Also I see you only gave yourself one rank stripe. Come on now! You've earned it... add a few more stripes! Typically 3 to 6 stripes is the norm. (I gave you 6!) Second is the tube of your thermal detonator should be painted gray. I don't think either of these things will affect your approval... they might depending on your GML, but I would suggest doing them anyway. Congrats on a fantastic build. you should be proud!

Excellent choices all around. Congrats to you both! -
DOH! I just realized that you asking about a Kashyyyk trooper cummerbund. Please disregard. My pattern is for a regular scout.
-
Here's the pattern I made for myself. Not official or lancer approved (but could be ), just my own: Loosetoon's Cummerbund Pattern Measurements listed on there are specific to me so you will have to adjust accordingly for your own size.

Congrats!!

You should be able to see the Lancer Deployment Request thread if you have 501st Member status, too, which it looks like you don't. But yes, you must be a Pathfinder first before you can be a Lancer.

Well done!

Awesome, Witness! Thanks for this. Since I've already done the snout, I would just have to do the bolt covers and remove the rear trim.
-
Can I get a Witness! Congrats to ya!

I used faux suede for mine that I got in the upholstery fabric department at JoAnns fabrics. I don't think I would use velcro for the thigh patches. I don't think you could get it to lay flat enough and it would be easier to snag on something and pull away.

It's attached at the top leaving the sides and bottom loose. Here's mine:

Sci-Fire Kashyyk Scout Trooper Helmet progress...
loosetoon replied to postmortem01's topic in Kashyyyk Trooper Armor/Helmet
I also have a huge pumpkin head and the KS fits me perfectly... I can even wear my glasses with the KS bucket on. I can not wear my glasses in a DP, or a MR CE TK helmet (my eyeballs touch the lenses in that one). -
The Acrylikhan Armor Project Files
loosetoon replied to Acrylikhan's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Hey, Frank. I made this quick doodle to illustrate what I see. I sketched in where the chest armor would sit on your body, so it's easier to see where the shoulders should be. Where you currently have them, the bottoms are right, but you can now see that they are overall too small and the tops should sit higher on your shoulder. I do think your vest sleeves are too long and I also sketched in how far down I think they sleeves should be. You want the sleeves to be longer than the bottoms of your shoulder bells, but not so long that they cover any of your bicep armor. I think where you have your biceps and forearms is just fine. I personally wear mine slightly higher. Hope this helps! -
BARC was easier to spell! I never knew Kashyyyk was spelled with 3 y's!

Way to go! Congrats!

Rule of thumb is weathering should look like it does in the movies. If you are dirtier than how they looked on screen, then you are too dirty.

You want to use a contact cement. What I use is called "Barge" cement. It comes in a red and yellow tube that I get at Ace Hardware. You'll also need some sort of cheap disposable brushes (also at Ace) to apply it to both sides, let it dry a bit but still tacky before you put the parts together. But probably any type of "contact" cement will be fine.

I got some 1/2 inch foam and cut and glued together a rectangle with no top. That way it's still hollow inside and can still be functional if you want to carry things in your pouches. The foam that JoAnn's sells is green, but I just found some beige foam at Hancock Fabrics.
