  1. Currently, we are not planning on making this a flip up face plate. The helmet does not have enough clearance to do that without making it inaccurate. Once we have the grown part back, we will take a look at the helmet and see if there is anything we can do.
  2. Pretty close on the modelling. Still gotta do the detail work. We're getting there.
  3. Yeah. We've noticed those differences also. Many of the subtle differences will be corrected by hand vs. on computer. We are using the computer to get the symmetry and the correct shape of the overall to high details. The fine tuning will be done after we have the physical part in hand. LOL. Sorry computer lovers, it's still easier to make sculpting changes by hand. The opening on the top of the visor in our model has rounded corners which will be removed on the physical master.
  4. Yeah. It's okay. I don't know if I'd destroy it but it's a good thing to support our 501st armorers now that you know.
  5. No. Don't feel stupid. That's difficult to see from all of the photos and footage. I've never seen the SF helmet. How is it?
  6. LOL. Actually, it's okay using the renderings. That part is correct on our model though. I'm not being sarcastic when I say that we appreciate you guys critiquing the model. It's will help so we don't miss something.
  7. We still have issues with some of the modelling at this point. We are working on adjustments right now of the upper torso. The helmet still has some details missing that we are working on. Overall, this project is going well.
  8. Yeah....sorry. On the other hand, this should be a fun, fast-paced project to watch evolve.
  9. Thanks Nate. We're getting brow beat on the 501st board for this decision but like I said. Somebody has to try to protect our fellow armorers. You would think that 501st members would look out for each other dispite living on different continents. Apparently we are not so much brothers as we thought. Again, our apologies for this decision. We are supporting PGHFett and SGB as well as many others with our stance.
  10. I apologize to our German and out of country 501st counterparts. We will probably not release these out of the country. It's nothing personal. We have several German friends, two of which we just met recently. We are just trying to support our comrades here who have been recast. The German Garrison's representative made it very clear that they did not care about recasting and we are S4!t out of luck if we get recast. For now, we are limiting shipments to US based. Again, our apologies but it's necessary since we know this will cost us in excess of $10K to just get the masters done.
  11. Sorry guys. We should have introduced ourselves since we have not been very active on these boards. Slavefive and I (postmortem01) generally have been known for making rubber blasters and such. We've recently moved into the armor arena. We started with the basic clone armor. The clone armor project is essentially completed and now we are moving on to the project we've really wanted to do which is the Kashyyk Trooper. Here are some pictures of the clone armor that we've recently made...
  12. Okay. Well, this has been a long time coming. Slavefive and I wanted to start showing some of the progress of the Kashyyk Scout Trooper Armor Project. This thread is specifically geared toward the helmet. We've been working on a 3D model for a bit now. The armor models are pretty much done. The helmet is near completion. I will post some more pictures when I get a chance. The idea is to grow and CNC the master parts. The parts will be molded and then turned into vacuum form bucks. Some parts may need to become fiberglass.
  13. Just FYI.... Lucasfilm calls them Kashyyk Troopers. BARC troopers are the white guys. Don't know if that has any bearing on the subject. I know because I asked and they definately call the cammo guys Kashyyk Troopers.
  14. The DC-15s is done and in production. I don't think we can squeeze more in before C4 but after is no problem. Contact Slavefive on the CT.net board.
  15. BAM!! DC-15 Long Rifle Complete!!!
  16. Here are the rest of the pictures....
  17. Okay.....We had to work late again....so we didn't get too much done but.... BTW...I know these say Day 7 on them but they are Day 8...unfortunately.... We only had about an hour of work left but it was late and we had to get home to our families.....
  18. lol.... Yeah...I'm quite fortunate to have the lathes and the mills to use. I take it for granted some times.
  19. Day Seven has ended...... We're beat....we didn't finish....we still have some small parts to make but here it is.
  20. The DC-15s will be made immediately after the rifle is done. I's say that it will be done by mid next week.
  21. Day Six....the home stretch..... Keep in mind that the top fin thing is not attached. I just set it on there for looks.
  22. Looks like you guys have it under control.
  23. Yeesh. End of Day 5. Not so productive since we worked a bit late. Oh well. We're still on schedule.... Starting to look familiar?
  24. Yes. There is an interest thread over on the CT.net site.
