redkraytdragon
Update: So after finishing up the original foam master, I decided at this point I really needed a hollow resin copy of the helmet to be able to effectively continue. Enter - my VERY first GM helmet lid (slush of course). I can't say I'm really very proud of this thing (no vent and it needed a LOT of work) and the scrap mold was a piece of garbage, but I learned a LOT from it and it got the job done...for the most part. Here's a few pics Nevertheless, I was pleased with the overall shape and size/proportion of it so that was a good thing I guess. Up next was the ever daunting task of sanding my @$$ off for the next god knows how many hours (I gave up counting, honestly) to get it as close to where I wanted it to be. I also needed to cut out the vent and reattach it, recessed. Simple enough but just a matter of getting it done.

redkraytdragon
I eventually settled on .125 half round styrene for the edges (after discussing it with Barry...he also supplied me with the templates for the eyes) That's it for now. I've got this under primer but just haven't had a chance to take full on pics yet. More to come soon!
redkraytdragon
So it's been a while since my last update. I apologize for the delay but I've been super busy between my real world job, filling orders, and trying to squeeze in time here and there to work on this project. I've taken a bit of a break from sculpting on this project but only because I needed to finish assembling the first cast out of the helmet mold to see how everything looks...needless to say it was quite a bit of work but also very enlightening on how this helmet kit will need to be done and how much work is involved. I'm not really going to get into details with words but I'm pretty sure the photos below are self explanatory (I didn't take shots of every singe step, but you get the idea). Without any further babbling from me, here's pics. Enjoy! That's it for now. Still gotta weather the helmet and cowl (will take more pics and post them after that's done) and then hopefully in the very near future I'll be able to start sculpting the clone arm pieces. As always, thanks for looking and stay tuned!
