Holdfast
Ok, time to be a man and admit that I made a mistake regarding the coloring of the pouches. They are mostly painted the same as the armor. Mostly. The color scheme is similar to the armor, however I found that the base color is an off white / bone color whereas on the armor it is a buff / desert sand color. The color scheme with the green and brown is the same on all with the exception of the drop boxes ( what they call it on the TB ) having only the brown. Even though the pattern is the same for the pouches there are differances. These being: 2 centre pouches (back) - heavily weathered with light to medium up to dark grey. My suggestion is to do the base cam pattern and use grey tone pastils to get the desired effect (mix with windex and brush on, then seal with flat clear). 4 Mag pouches (2 front, 2 back) - clean, by that I mean off white base color with regular cam pattern same as hard armor. Minimal, if any weathering. 2 small pouches above front mag pouches - Same as mag pouches however subjected to the same green ink wash as the hard armor. 8 Grenade pouches - Same as the 4 mag pouches however subjected to the same green ink wash as the hard armor. 2 Drop boxes - Off white with brown cam pattern, not too much though, clean with minimal weathering. Also in regards to the cam on the armor, on almost all the hard armor there appears to be a lot of places where the paint has been chipped or worn away exposing a bare metal finish. Might I suggest after the primer is applied and before the base color is applied using a light gunmetal paint to give a realistic worn paint effect. This can be achieved by using anything from Marmite to toothpaste to liquid latex. Simply apply to the area you wish the bare metal to be exposed and spray your base color over. Disclaimer - I am not an expert however what I typed above is from conclusions drawn from spending a great deal of time studying the movie with the scenes featuring the KST paused on a big screen TV. If anyone has a better source then please pipe up and let me know.
mrbungle
awesome job , rogue scout! i think you nailed the pouch color solution. on weathering the armor. i did exactly like you are stating. primer, chrome, then primer again. then tan coat using liquid latex to mask damage from layer to layer. Lonescout
Let's keep the bar raised.... 2 hip pouches with 4 straps-each strap should be connected with D rings w/ leather straps not cloth. 2 D rings per hip pouch. We need to keep the bar raised...especially since they have seen my Costume..from what I hear I may have set a standard...and this is in no way bragging! I am just honored and thankful for guys like Mrbungle, Pghfett, Etc. I still need to do some upgrading gloves, toe piece etc...I can't wait to see Mrbungle's new armor and start all over! And I know eventually there will be better ones than mine...so lets keep the KST (Kashyyyk Scout Trooper) alive! We have got to get rid of the CB designation! My Designation CB-3718 501st and here is my Rebel Legion Pic http://fl501st.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=...10&start=75 Page 6 second post.

Acrylikhan
i put in there that the cod piece was hard armor, what does everybody think on the dreaded cod piece? I think you could also get away with a hard rubber urethane. It would still look like the real deal, and would be slightly flexible. A piece of camo material could be glued or stretched on to the part. Or a slush cast of hard rubber urethane with a foam backing could also work. I'm think material might be inconsequential, just so it looks correct/screen accurate. That's my $1.37+tax.
mrbungle
i am begining to agree with you. i found a a pic where the cod looks like it bends with the KST's movement. crl updated.

Falcon-One
OK, not to upset any one, But I guess I was missunderstood. I think it is indeed grey with a hint of green. or in other words grey/green with not so much green, or a gallon of grey paint and throw in 1/4 cup of green paint. Either that or my T.V. screen is off color. just my 2 cents worth. By the way, who has the cumberbunds for sale? Denny
mrbungle
the only time i see any green is when it is in the shadows, when the cumberbund is in the light , it looks grey. on the availiblity of cumberbunds no one is offering them yet. i have freind who is doing one for me and she said once she was done and we get it looking right, she would be open to doing a run. no idea what she will charge , but it won't be expensive. Heatshock
soz lat eto discussions. looks grey guys. Looking at the pics on here from ghst915 and frank - cos them pics look even better than the movie stills - and definatelt grey. only prob is in bright light it looks like a really light grey. CGI inconsistency? I would prob guess - its base grey with green/brown weathering - but no cammo pattern per se on it. soz for late reply Tom - life yada yadda yadda
Holdfast
I didn't see any green. I believe that the cummerbund is a camo pattern of light to medium gray with some brown staining, probably dirt stains. The gray that looks to be a camo pattern could just be CGI shadows. Heatshock
as always Tom - count me in on a KST cummerbund run as for colour - we are agreed that its light grey with appropriate watering in black and brown only? the only reason I throw green in there is 'real life' ie if I were in a swampy place some where being an recon scout like swampy trooper, I would imagine some green muck eventually ending up on my nice light grey cummerbund. wotever the colour though, I am certain its weathering and much rather than an actual camo pattern 'pattern'
