TB-7076 Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 The black thing is usually grey (in the promo renderings) and is one of the two* "box" devices attached to the left bicepts with an equally grey kind of strapping. I guess it's some kind of back-engineered T-bit - same as the other stuff embedded in the right bicepts as can be seen in Mike's replica. Btw. great work!! But I think there is one detail missing. In the CGI pic I posted above it looks as if the second smaller tube under the "main sensor?!" hosts or is made up of another tube with smaller diameter attached. *) I say two because be it CGI error or whatever but there is one screenshot showing a box like that pointing towards the chest as well.
pghfett Posted March 27, 2007 Author Posted March 27, 2007 Yes, there is def two boxes that wrap around the left bicept armor.
DaVe Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 Phillip, you are a master of details.... Mike, you are a master armorer....
Army Scout Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 Today I put on what parts I have finished to date. Not seen are the knees they are done as well. I wanted to check the size of all the armor pieces. The left side bicept is being completed as we speak. The armor is pic'ed without any straps yet as I still need to make them. Also please ignore the black undersuit it's all the soft parts I has on hand to take the pics. There is of yet no soft parts for this costume - YET Hope you like the progress pics ~Mike Now thats what Im talking about!!!! Chris
Sentinel Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 OMG! THAT LOOKS AWESOME! Can't wait to get the helmet as well as some of that armor.
Ghst915 Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 HOLY LITTLE GREEN FROGMAN YODA THAT IS FREAKING AWSOME Unbelieveable Mike, outstanding. I woke up this morning this early to get drink of water, I figured Id check the boards and seen this. Words escape me right now dude. Can't wait to get Ladyghst going on the soft armor for you. And get the rest of the armor to match my helmet. Looking forward to seeing the boots now.
TB-7076 Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 - speechless - forget about the lack of softparts etc - that's such a pretty armor . it seems everything goes well together regarding proportions in relation to each other. Though in some screenshots the shoulder armor apears a bit bigger than in your example. Are you a bigger guy than your model manequin?

I thought the shoulder look a tad undersized so I'm probably going to revisit this piece. Not a difficult mod - wider and taller is all, the shape appears to be fine.
Ladyghost4459 Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 OMG.... I guess that means I need to get rolling on the soft underbelly of the BARC. I have been scouting materials and looking at reference pictures a lot, but have been really busy taking care of my customers. I will be getting on some mock ups this weekend after I get my list pared down to half. You are just impressing the Hell out of all of us with your RnR project. I guess that means that Officer PGHfett is good at all he does.
TB-7076 Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 Shapes seem all fine - Just the scaleing but that's why you've made the shots so... If you say that's an easy modification that's fine. Anyways that's a damn sexy armor and definately a masterpiece of craftmanship. The material is not the best to work on pretty much as most costumes but you succeeded in getting almost close to the original in the first throw where other armors had to undergo several steps in evolution. I think that's noteworthy.

I think that's noteworthy. As long as I got your eyes to rely on Phil I'm way ahead of the curve ! Modding FG is a piece of cake. I'll save the smaller mold for smaller sized scouts so it will not go to waste. Scaling is always an issue but between us all here we'll get this done up right ! Ladyghst915 - at this rate you'll never get up from the sewing machine - good for us - bad for you LOL oh, yeah I'm not good at everything, my wife yelled at me for not setting the trash out the other day and for locking myself out of the house and accidentally using some "good shirts" for a paint clean up detail - I'll stop here 'cause the list is quite long
Ladyghost4459 Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 Means God is still GOD and you are just you...human. I think the "forget the trash gene" is something man is born with and men still haven't mastered the "less waste" factor just yet. Yeah I am pretty much chained to my machine from 9 am to after 9pm.
Guest Scattrap Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 dont trash your molds for the smaller peices.... you may find some people need the parts a tad smaller!
TB-7076 Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 Yeah - I'm one of the "dwarfes" 176 cm maybe was average when ANH was filmed but now....
Guest spooky-kid Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 at a loss of words worthy enough to describe how (you know what)'n awesome that looks. way to go fett. you have amazing work and extrodinary craftsmanship.
ScoutSi Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 Mike, That is truly awesome work, i'm drooling here!! Well done dude can't wait to see more Si
ScoutSi Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 Those bells look fab, having two sizes is a great idea. Knees loook awesome too bro, especially with the metal bracket/clip Mike, you are the master lol
Sentinel Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 The new size bell looks really good. The knee pads look really good too. Keep up the awesome work!
