pghfett Posted February 23, 2007 Author Posted February 23, 2007 BARC armor will help you hide behind that tree better than white armor LOL An update on my progress... I pulled the master shoulder bell and will be cleaning it up prior to making the final mold today. After this piece is made, I'm going to post some pics of all the pieces on my person to show it's scale as each piece looks with each other. I'm a little behind but the smaller pieces are proving to be much easier to sculpt with the exception of the shoulder bell. I also have the proto elbow armor mold finished and waiting for a gel coat, a pull and then final finishing for the master mold. busy, busy , busy....
TB-7076 Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 Looking forward to the pictures and I hope the scales are right so you don't have to alter too much.
Guest Elcruzmissle Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 good lord... where have i been for the last 30 years... lol, i need to get into this in a hurry. That armor is looking great! Im amazed at all the research thats gone into this. Keep it up, im anxious to see the final set!
TB-7076 Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 How could I miss these? Wow, they look beautiful. Yeah I guess I can't gelp it - it's not the first board I got the "nitpick no1" medal.... However you've shown more than once that you are on of those talents who only need little advice. Most pieces we get to see for the first time are already worked out near perfection. There's little left to do for us nitpicks .
Sentinel Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 That looks great...far surpasses what I thought imaginable.
pghfett Posted March 1, 2007 Author Posted March 1, 2007 Hey everyone, Ely (VASHDSTAMPEDE) contacted me thru a pm today and has a few sets of brackets available for folks. There are four brackets (2 for each knee) in all but you can talk to Ely if you want to arrange other options I suppose. here is his email address for orders and questions pretaining to the knee brackets. Version 2 is the one you want - FORPOOPINSILLY@aol.com
DaVe Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 PGHFett, Your work is amazing... A couple questions: 1) How are you making these pieces? Fiberglass, ABS Plastic, etc...? 2) Are you able to more or are these one of a kind? 3) Are you considering selling parts? I can't wait to see more progress.... DaVe
pghfett Posted March 2, 2007 Author Posted March 2, 2007 PGHFett, Your work is amazing... A couple questions: 1) How are you making these pieces? DaVe This project is being done with all Scouts here in mind. So many folks here have inspired me while tackling this project and contributed to this project in some way. Like I said a while back - This is OUR (Bikerscouts) community project and I'm hoping to see some BARCS running around in the 501st Including myself... In short 1) Fiberglass (looking for a really good thermoformer as well ) 2) I will be making more 3) Out of respect to the boards policy pm sent We need some BARC's in the 501st to "camo" things up
tb2253 Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 Hi PGHFett, I really appreciate all of the research, hard work and talent that you put into this project. It's definitely professional quality and I can't wait to see the whole costume completed!

pghfett Posted March 2, 2007 Author Posted March 2, 2007 great attention to detail, and im more than ready for my set! the BARC armor is incredible. how much time have you put into this? I don't even keep track anymore...
Army Scout Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 I don't even keep track anymore... Is it done yet? Is it done yet? Is it done yet?......... Chris
Guest xdarkangeldownx Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 Well as far as i know, i'm the only BARC in the north east. It's not very good because I used what skills i had to make mine; definately more BARC's are needed. I was just at NYC Comic Con and some people thought i was Boba Fett... not that my armor looks Fett, just because it's more green... If anyone wants to check out a poor man's attempt at BARC go to www.myspace.com/barcitup
pean12 Posted March 15, 2007 Posted March 15, 2007 Can't wait to see you model the various pieces together. Outstanding work pghfett!!
