MrPerik
Good morning everyone, my name is Erik and I live in Trieste, Italy. After a couple of unapproved costumes, I now want to make a Scout trooper costume so I can then approve it. I ordered the RWA Creation kit and bought the Wampa Wear gloves. I have a black flight suit that I need to modify to fit within parameters, and I downloaded the guides for the other soft parts. I hope to be able to join your group as soon as possible!

MrPerik
Thanks for the welcome. The armor is on the way, and I'm preparing the flight suit. Now I also have to see about buying some boots to modify

MrPerik
https://amzn.eu/d/3FICa4N Do you think it's good for the reinforcements and the rear flap of the flight suit?

Aradun
https://amzn.eu/d/3FICa4N Do you think it's good for the reinforcements and the rear flap of the flight suit? The material will work if faux suede is your desired preference. With 4 sq ft of material you’ll need to be very careful how you lay things out for your patches and rear flap, as it will likely leave little margin for error. I would advise starting with your reinforcements first, and then see if you have enough material remaining for the rear flap. That way if you have to order additional material you don’t have to be concerned about the dye from the new lot being an exact match. Also, just be aware that using faux suede will not meet Level 2 requirements if that is a goal for you down the line. Here in the US, I can get 6-9 sq ft of pigskin suede for about $24.99 which is about 10 Euros more than what you’re paying for the faux suede. Not sure what pricing is in Italy, but it might be worth a look.
MrPerik
Thanks for the info. I wanted to use faux leather because it's easier to sew on with the sewing machine.
M.J
Erik, also with the faux leather, (I have the same on mine), once cut it will have to be folded, so when you are doing your patches for your pants they just cant be sewn on, you'll have to fold then sew, ironing then pinning helps. You can pre sew as long as you sew on the same line so there is no double stitches. When its either Leather or pig skin (my favourite) no need to hem just cut into shape and sew on. You can sew Pig Skin and suede with a leather needle, pig skin is more forgiving if you didnt buy one. I've had my faux leather for over 10 years and still going strong, its just tricky to sew on. 1

MrPerik
Good morning. I cut the edges, but for fear of cutting too much the result is this. Do you think I should cut more? I would like to upload more photos but the forum won't let me
Dart
Yes, if you wanted to cut a bit more, you have some extra. Looks good, otherwise!
Aradun
The forum has very limited allotment per user for uploading pics directly. You’ll need to use an image hosting site like Imgur, or the free Tapatalk app.Additional details on posting pics can be found here:https://forum.501stpathfinders.com/topic/23053-faq-how-do-i-post-images/
MrPerik
I took a little trip out for a test. There are still a lot of things to sort out but I like how it's progressing
Aradun
Coming along nicely indeed! Finish line is in sight! Keep up the great work!Just a quick note on the DLT19X. There should not be a bipod on the sniper 19X version. The bipod is only used on the standard DLT19. Just bringing this to your attention in case you’re planning to submit it for approval with your GML.

And thanks for the tip about the DLT19x. Now I'll immediately remove the biped
