Filler primer is basically paint primer + bondo and isn't really made to serve as a surface coat. It may start rubbing off and not be very durable over the long term.
The black clips are generally positioned a little more than halfway between the detonator box and the end caps.

Do you have a recommendation on spray paint brand/color that I could use for the thermal detonator tube and helmet greeblies? Looking online at rust oleums painters touch flat grey but it’s labeled as primer, would that work for everything that needs to be grey or do you know of what’s typically used by others?

Hey everyone, I am still making progress slowly but surely and should hopefully finish everything before my first comicon in late June. I had a few questions that hopefully yall could point me in the right direction!

1. Is it better to use flat black or satin black for the mic tip on the greeblie and the blacked out portion behind the greeblie?

2. In the CRL, it states a few items with different shades of grey. I know there's not a definitive color list, but any help in recommending a spray paint can that I could pick up locally would be great (US based). I've read that you should match the snout greeblie to the grey of your decals (I got trooperbay decals for the helmet, so I'd assume a medium grey?), and the grey for your TD tube should just be a lighter grey?

3. are the visor bolts the same grey as the TD tube or snout greeblie?

4. Does anyone know what the grey sticker that came with the Trooperbay decals is for? It looks like the shape of the snout greeblie.

Satin Black would be better.

Rustoleum’s basic 2X Gray Primer is fine for the snout greeblie and TD tube.  Don’t use the primer/filler version.

3. are the visor bolts the same grey as the TD tube or snout greeblie?

If you’re panting them, then yes. If they are gray plastic, they don’t need to be painted.

4. Does anyone know what the grey sticker that came with the Trooperbay decals is for? It looks like the shape of the snout greeblie.

TB provides a gray sticker for the snout.  That shouldn’t be used.

Another question, I’m running into issues with my TD hose, I’ve tried a variety of brand and types of spray paint but they all seem to chip once the tube starts to bend. Does anyone have a link for like Amazon or another store that sells hose that is the correct color and practically just needs to be cut? I believe the diameter of the hose I currently have is 1.5” give or take.

Depends on the outer diameter of your det hose and most but not all are exactly the same.

Any vacuum or pool hosing you get from Amazon is going to be more than you need. I would email studio creations or cal at far away creations to see if they'll just send you some det hose at a nominal price.
