Black Jade
I heard the best way to clean the undersuit (black piece) is to use a spray bottle containing alcohol and water, spray down the suit and then use febreeze for a quick and easy clean. Would the vets here recommend this method after the heated troops? Also, my cumberbund is showing staining from sweat, what is the best method to attack these stains? Taking all and any advice, thank you in advance. 😃
Chopper
The spray method works for a quick clean. If you need to do a full clean, you can hand wash your undersuit in the bathtub with cold water and a little Woolite, then leave it to air dry. I've cleaned isolated stains off of my bund by wetting the area, then scrubbing the stained area with a toothbrush and (again) Woolite detergent.
BikerScout007
Turn it inside out, wash in cold, hang to dry. That's what I do.
Harbinger
No issues with the suede then Mickey?
BikerScout007
6 minutes ago, Harbinger said: No issues with the suede then Mickey? None. And I've had this undersuit for over 5 years. I don't wash it every single time, but when I do -- turn it inside out, wash in cold, hang to dry. Also -- people seem to be really keen to weather their armor, but get precious about the suede. This stuff is supposed to get faded and look worn! 1
Aradun
I’ve done all the above, but usually just a little vodka and water spritz followed by fabreeze. I have also used an at home dry cleaning kit, but didn’t care for the scent afterwards.
OnkelPaschulke
I like the vodka approach most! 😄 But I already was asking myself the question of washing the soft parts. So thanks @Black Jade for bringing up this topic!

Harbinger
Tried Mickey’s inside out method – I would add to use a gentle detergent (Woolite etc.), and make sure to zip it up once turned inside out. Not sure it’s something I want to do more than once or twice a year though, the Febreze trick is probably a good in-between troop option. BikerScout007
I've been doing it with the same suit for the past 5 years with no issues. Is the suede all broken in now and faded in spots? Yup. Like it is in the movie! But I don't wash it every single time. Some days are worse than others! I should also mention to put your white goods (cummerbund, codpiece) and your vest in a mesh laundry bag so they don't get all twisted up. Obviously not in the same load. I'm sure you all know to separate your whites and blacks in the laundry! And always wash in cold. Better for the environment and your clothes.
