Hey troops,

New to this detachment. Nearly 10 years of procrastination has come to an end.

I've recently scored a set of ROTJ scout armour from CTPG. This is our first set of locally manufactured armour(to my knowledge) but I've only been in the Legion for 13 years!

I am getting the standard soft parts from Imperial boots and intend to make my own riding boots. Sidearm pistol has been sourced with another local guy( thanks Martin!)

I've got some uni work to knock out before I can dedicate time and attention to the build so I won't be active on here until I commence the build, which may be a measure of months. I will undoubtably be plaguing ppl with questions once I start! Lol

I just wanted to introduce myself for now and check out the detachment forums etc.

Cheers,

Sean (Hamish on 501st main forums- TK-6673)

Welcome!  Always good to see a long timer here.

@spike (Altmann) predates that, but he has since sold his molds to a guy in my Garrison.

Can't wait to see this kit when it's completed!  We've been hearing a lot about it.  Please let us know how we can help

Chris the prop guy armour was also recommended to me by my garrison armourer so if you post pictures, i will be excited to see how it looks.

Good-luck with your build!

Lol. My cover has been blown! Hey MJ. Don't go getting all TB-smug on me now. Yes, I am finally committing to it. I plan to make my own boots if the materials are locally available to pass CRL/approval.
Is that me bombing your profile thumbnail pic?? What year was that? Was it the state library troop?

Thanks. I've heard of the Altmann bucket but was unaware that he did the full armour. It's about time we had some quality hard-armour producers here. Long overdue.

Sadly @spike sold his moulds off and just has buckets now. I have one of his buckets and I love it.

Hey @M.J correct me if I'm wrong but weren't you and @Chopper talking about another armor vendor that is in Australia? The age is catching up with me too😅

Don't be sad, Pete!  My buddy Gary here in So Cal bought them and is currently fixing them up to start making Scouts for his prop company, Pilot Bay!   They will be available soon.

The local lads are in South Australia, Sean their old school you may know a few. They’re are just blokes making on time off so there is a wait list, I’m one of them not for a Scout, but I may need another helmet for a kit I have. Mmm the Mandalorian me thinks.

Spike to which I know as Steve is really awesome.

Rudi you know what going to do for the next 100 times I see you.

Sean it was one of those troops we ran across town do a couple in the city May the 4th about 8 years ago? Logan forgot his under armour so he wrangled, Myer than a MSO. We did get up to some shenanigans hence the photo.

I do have the helmets off pic was going to post it

Ah yes. I remember trying to mimic the static display iron man on that troop.
Have you seen Chris' (CTPG)TB armour yet? That boy is certainly churning out some great stuff! Have you been involved in DIY TB boot-making lately?

  • 6 months later...

Hello all,

It has been some time since my last check-in. Thanks for all of the helpful advice that has been given. I have been flat out with meeting the demands of life and all that. I have had some progress, however. I managed to score the last set of worker-boots on the shelves in K-Mart that had the uniform colour of the sole, rather than the two-tone soles that have taken over. I have placed an order with Imperial Boots for my undersuit (with suede) and gloves. I am deferring any further manual work on this until:

1) Undersuit arrives. No point in doing any armour building without it.

2) Uni is finished in November.

I'll post some photos of what I have gathered so far once the gear arrives from Imperial Boots.

Until then.
