LightBrownPillow
Hola troopers! I'm excited to say I got my suit in good-enough condition to try out this Halloween and it was a great time! I've got quite a few adjustments & to-dos from it, but wanted to post some pics here and get any extra feedback from everyone, so I appreciate any comments. Things I know I still need to do: Attach the shoulder bells to the chest armour with zip ties Build the vest Taper the flight suit pants so they don't pile above the boots Redo the boots (vinyl is too crinkled) Attach pistol holster to right boot Redo the pouches in heavier material One question: With my 5'9" build, the gap between my chest armor and the belt when it's worn at the hips seems too small for the standard-size pouches. I could wedge the pouches between them so they lay flat, but then my chest armor rises up and isn't resting on my shoulders. Anyone have suggestions on how to get around this? I'd like to keep the belt at waist level per Lancer requirements.
Chopper
Your belt actually looks slightly high to me. Your navel should be approximately just over the top edge of your belt. Is that about where you have it positioned now? Also, if your chest armor is still too low, you can work on overlapping the shoulder bridges to bring the chest and back armor up a bit. You can mock it up with some tape before doing any trimming. You might also want to put some foam or stiffener material behind your cod, which will help to stop the indent effect. I can't really see the boot vinyl creasing from your photos very well. They should pass basic clearance, at least from what I can see in your photos. What maker of helmet are you using? sconlon68
Looking good! I think the boots look ok. Maybe put some thick interfacing behind the vinyl if you feel they sag too much.

I might have had the belt centered over the navel, so I'll try lowering it. Cool on the boots. I was judging how smooth they should be from this tutorial, specifically this image. Guess it's on the higher-standard end. My helmet is from user @troygordon2. I'm not sure how many he's made since my order back in December, but it's worked pretty well for me so far! I am still working on the internal padding to help make it comfy.
troygordon2
Couple things to work on, but if you've come this far then it's all little stuff. I'd drop the belt a bit to give the ammo pouches more room. Its how all the kids are doing it these days. And spacing on the pouches, keep it about 1 inch to either side of the outside stitching on the cumberbund (where the stripes are also about an inch apart if memory serves me). Also, get some 3 or 5mm foam from a craft store, trace a pattern from the crotch, and then cut a slit and insert the fitted foam piece in the rear to prevent the camel toe. when you bring the shoulder bells in, it should help with the bicep armor. Boots look GREAT! Not sure what you're going on about with crinkles, but they look awesome to me.
M.J
HI may I chime in, you've done a good job, love the pre troop and how did you go? Was reading other comments so sorry if I'm repeating. Your drop boxes, as you notice they connect with your belt, just pop them down a little. The front photo was nagging at me then I got it, it was your shoulder bells they are too far down and fall to the back, bring them up closer to your shoulder, also the arm pieces not sure if they just dropped around loose. We can also advice on that if that is the issue. Ok Just read someone else mentioned ya bells, also is your helmet sitting high? Here a couple of photos to help you, you can see the gap on the drop boxes and the arm parts, including where the belt needs to sit
