If you find that doesn’t help you might want to scuff up the boot tops with some sandpaper to give the adhesive a purchase to grip on to. If there is waterproofing or manufacturing chems on the boots the glue may not be able to get a good grip. Hopefully the E6000 will work for you though!

Thanks. I'll try scuffing it up on the back when I continue working on the boot. The e6000 worked great though and the contact cement continued to make a tighter bond.

Pleased with the progress on the boots. Hopefully the rest goes smoothly. eaef1d76297c0c69fdef93c5099e06ac.jpg

Before I go to town gluing down the dog bone... Does everything look ok with my boots? Wasn't sure if my dog bone should be wider to try and cover the lace bump more. ecba8c1d36e86fb3179346339979c99e.jpg44ff5e3cb95b5465d59f155972c6c98f.jpgbe3e40da0c70b39195bd86e0dc93bf5d.jpg

I think that's about as good as you can make it, given the limitations of not having an actual sierra sneaker. The size of your foot is going to affect where the lace ridges are on the underboot, as well as where the dog bone falls. If you made your dog bone wider and canted further forward, then that'd throw the look off in a different way.

Yeah, I don't want it to look like I have a stubby little foot. I did switch out the laces for flatter ones and that helped a bit.

I'm working on making my own decals for the helmet. I wanted to color match the gray to my snout color (and make them a tad more accurate). Some of the images of the snout decal show a gray stroke/outline at the top and base of the curves. Other images it looks like the black goes all the way to the top and base. Is one more accurate or are both acceptable?

It's not really specified in the CRL aside from the statement that "Decals are screen accurate". Just speaking in general though, *most* of the photos of the different screen used helmets that I've seen have the stripes going all the way through the vertical backing. So if your goal is to get as close to what was done with the majority of screen used helmets, then I'd go with the option on the right.

Finished the decals and very happy with the results. It's crazy how the little details finish off the bucket. 469b83447a99b71a26b542ee5e3758db.jpgf0c1c4e8c90fdc40466a397204010dda.jpg

This look ok for belt placement? The boxes are about 1" from the belt.f3bf8b8f77f008f3f1ace3c9afb27aab.jpg

In terms of the vertical height from the belt to the drop box, yes. Your boxes look like they're kicked a little bit forwards though?

Probably. I'll figure out how I want to attach them in the back and then work on placement a bit more.

You’re probably on this already, but if not, check with Chopper on the return edge you have along the top of the drop boxes.

Thanks. I'll ask him. I thought I saw it in some approved Lancer applications but I've looked at so many reference images lately so I might have misremembered.

@Chopper should I cut off the lip on the hip boxes?

That little lip on the top of the drop box is fairly unique to the SC pre-trimmed kits. Like many of the screen derived armors, the SC drop boxes are shaped somewhat differently than the original drop boxes. That said, the originals didn't have it, so if you'd like to really go for it and trim/file down that bit of excess flash, I say do it.

Winging making the vest from some leftover fabric I had for my Shoretrooper neck seal. Sewing these 1" ribs is a lot faster than the 4mm ribs on the Shore's undershirt. 551039896a812e425ba464116d8a80b4.jpg

Need to add some Velcro and test the hem line for the shoulder bells but I think I've got something here. ce8a38291c1d1fffc2c2b95d6970a47a.jpg

Vest is done-ish. I'm sure I'll need to tweak things for a better fit. Now to work on the length for the Cod attachment.f5534382f5be7280085336305deff1ef.jpg

That vest looks sweet! Like the ST fabric.
Thanks! I don't know what it is. Got it at Joann's one day. Has some stretch and puff to it. Just put two pieces together for the quilting look. No other filler was needed.
