Shoretrooper Build - Buckethead18

I'm beyond excited to begin work on my Captain Shoretrooper!

Picked up the kit from a local fellow fan who just didn't have the time to dedicate to putting this together, but I gladly helped him out! A few pieces are missing (hip plates, "shotgun" shells), but I'm already in talks to get those pieces printed. I've just been gathering links now for soft parts and materials I'll need to literally piece it together, so recommendations on how to assemble and keep it together are warmly welcomed.

Right now I'm working on the bucket (which was already painted when I got it) and the arm pieces. Trying to figure out how to trim the really curved pieces that my scissors and sanders can't get too very easily... Also wondering how people installed a helmet suspension system/padding in the bucket. Velcro, rivets, something else?

Welcome!

I used helmet padding in my bucket that's attached with Velcro. Below is a link to a product similar to what I used.

The smaller bits of foam are stuck under the lens to prevent my nose getting crushed.

I also used Velcro to attach fans/battery. The inside of my bucket is coated with plastidip and the Velcro sticks nicely.

Have you tried lexan scissors to cut the curved parts?

Found a photo of the inside of my bucket. I also attached some old prescription lenses with gaffers tape to the inside so I can see better .b5e7d6b82549fbaae307e4a5426f1e33.jpg

That's awesome, I hadn't tried lexan scissors. I'll pick those up tonight, thanks!

Get the ones with curved blades.

It’s been awhile! But I’m finally diving back into my shore trooper project! Currently sanding and painting Matt black still. But also wanting to knock out cutting the lens I ordered to fit the helmet. Anybody have a favorite tool to cut the shape out as well as how to clamp it down?

I used Lexan scissors to cut mine and then I hot glued it inside my helmet.  But I've since replaced it with the Mr Paul lens, which I also hot glued inside.

If lexan scissors don't work, try a rotary tool with a cutting wheel.

Small set back. Trying to install a lens that came as just a flat sheet. After hours of cutting and forming, it snapped while gluing! On the Shoretrooper fam page on Facebook motorcycle lens was the top comment, so I’ll try that next.

good news! The bicep, forearm, and shoulder bells are painted Montana gold. They look amazing and I eagerly await my paints from Amazon. Hoping to sand the chest/abdomen tomorrow and get them painted Matt black.

What’s the paint color for the decal on the bucket, that burnt orange circle?

The motorcycle lens will be loads easier to work with. That's what I have.

If you want to stick with the Montana Gold for your colors, you can use Montana Gold Red Orange G2090
