TaterNanners
What are yall's thoughts or opinions on the IB undersuit for the scout? I'm considering getting one this run. I'm not a very tall dude at only 5 foot 8, with a slim waist, and I was wondering what size I should get as well. Here is the link to go take a look. Thanks! https://www.imperialboots.com/product/biker-scout-jumpsuit/
Chopper
I haven't gotten the scout coveralls from IB, but I have picked up some other coveralls from them in the past. As someone who is about the same size as you, you should know that their suits tend to run tall. Their size small fits me fine width-wise, but in terms of height it was better suited to someone over 5ft10.

That's good that the width is okay, do any of you think the suede patches are too long?
Chopper
At your height compared to the sizing of the IB coveralls, both the suit and the riding patches will very likely be too long for you without additional tailoring. There are other issues with the suits we've seen, specifically that the riding patch is only on the front portion of the legs, with nothing on the back. This is not a big deal for basic clearance, but can be an issue for Lancer/Level 2. At your size, you may want to consider looking at different vendors for the scout coveralls. woobiee
I am also 5' 8" and ordered a size S. I will be needing tailoring but I was kinda expecting that with any flight suit I purchase. I can confirm that the riding patches are on both front and back sides of the legs. The addition could be a recent development -- my flight suit was made in Dec 2020. Chopper
Thank you for that @woobiee, we haven't had much of a chance to evaluate the suit, since they first posted it for opinions a while back.
woobiee
No problem @Chopper I'll be sure to document my progress on my build once things start happening. But unfortunately RS experienced a fire earlier this week and orders are massively delayed. Thank goodness they reported everyone being safe! TaterNanners
Thank you both for the input! I will probably skip on the IB undersuit, and I will keep searching the vendor site for an alternative. My last resort is to pony up and make it myself, but I'm not too confident in sewing and tailoring still.
Chopper
@TaterNanners try @Chrisx909x here or KriptonTop on Etsy for some additional scout coverall options.

If you decide to make your own we’re here to help because many of us have been where you are at.
