tfin-online
So I wanted a Shoretrooper the second I saw them on the promos for Rogue 1. In 2018 I started 3d printing one, then life happened, then covid happened, and now here I am. I have a kit 99% printed with a ton more work to go. I have cleared my plate and am now making finishing this my priority. I know there are some updates to the stuff I have that I will need to do and if I miss anything please chime in. I would rather have a correction now than after I have put up approval pics and failed. Here are a bunch of pics of what I have so far. In the past I have talked with our local 501st garrison so they know me, and I am also in the final stages of my application to the Mercs as well. All the parts 20210126_165926 by T Fin, on Flickr The backpack. This is the part I know needs the most work. There is a hole in the top I know needs to be added and other work that I am still trying to figure out. 20210126_165943 by T Fin, on Flickr Chest 20210126_165954 by T Fin, on Flickr Back and chest 20210126_170002 by T Fin, on Flickr Forearms 20210126_170012 by T Fin, on Flickr Shoulder bells 20210126_170034 by T Fin, on Flickr Biceps, this set of prints are garbage. I am going to reprint them. 20210126_170039 by T Fin, on Flickr Abs, front. From what I know there are 2 additional diagonal parts that need to be printed and added on to the upper middle section. 20210126_170051 by T Fin, on Flickr abs, back 20210126_170054 by T Fin, on Flickr Shins. I am up in the air about these. They fit, ish, for now. I have seen people do mods and spit them in the front and seal the rear then use velcro under the shin plate to seal them closed allowing for some expansion room, so I might do that, or reprint them to allow for that. 20210127_101816 by T Fin, on Flickr 20210127_101820 by T Fin, on Flickr bag of "shotgun shells" 20210127_101849 by T Fin, on Flickr Various back box parts, clips, and stuff. 20210127_101832 by T Fin, on Flickr The helmet is done 2021-01-29_01-15-39 by T Fin, on Flickr The e-22 sitting with my mando weapons. received_511599803136432 by T Fin, on Flickr The pringles can and thermal det are printed but not pictured. The belt boxes are not printed yet. I had hand plates but they are not the correct ones so they are on the list to reprint. I also have an entire soft parts kit from Imperial boots. I am also aware of the need to remove all print lines from every surface. Here is a pic of my B1 reading a play bill to show that I really love sanding. 20191006_165200 by T Fin, on Flickr
KOtrooper
Looks like you're ready to dive in on the sanding! Your bicep armor still might be able to get a smooth finish, depending on how many perimeters you printed. tfin-online
More recent progress. Reprinted my back plate from Joel's files that I found in my file folder. I am going to take the old back and start a Kyber trooper kit. 20210222_101917 by T Fin, on Flickr Lots of filling and sanding. 20210216_162752 by T Fin, on Flickr 20210217_102104 by T Fin, on Flickr My method of marking and eliminating print lines 20210224_093506 by T Fin, on Flickr Very glad I build a vented paint booth so I can paint during the winter. 20210303_095344 by T Fin, on Flickr
tfin-online
It's been a while but I am slowly moving forward. Belt boxes are all sanded and 1/2 way through the priming process. 20210423_160130 by T Fin, on Flickr Legs/shins, hand plates, and forearms are all ready for final panting 20210423_160124 by T Fin, on Flickr Chest, shoulder bells, and biceps are coming next. tfin-online
After a long time I have finally found some time to put some paint on my kit. All of the print lines have been removed and now it is time for some Montana Gold! 20211114_135042 by T Fin, on Flickr And 20211114_135103 by T Fin, on Flickr And I also need some clarification. The first pic after this is my current shin. The second pic is the current CRL. And the 3rd pic is a pic of parts from I believe Paul's kits parts, I think. I can see that the upper most part of my shin is flat and the others come to a point so that will need to be fixed. The question is: right below that part mine comes is rounded, the crl looks about the same, and the Paul's parts has a pyramid like part in there instead of the rounded bit. Which is correct? I am going for basic approval if that helps too. I asked our GML and he pointed me towards you guys. Thanks in advance! current shin by T Fin, on Flickr current crl shin by T Fin, on Flickr shoretrooper shin details by T Fin, on Flickr
KOtrooper
Hi Tim - go with what you have. Both styles should be approvable.
tfin-online
Progress is slowly coming along. Only a few parts left to base coat, then on to the damage and tan and dirt! 20211217_101407 by T Fin, on Flickr
