M.J
Hello James, Your build of the kit looks good I understand sewing the soft parts can be a challenge. Though your cummberbun does concern me. You've made upper part into a curve, sorry the buns are not curved, the below picture shows you. Also your sewn line attaching the cod to the bun, its a little messy you will have to neaten it up, I do understand at times it may not be seen but there will be a time your arms are up or your belt flops down, again photo showing you the were the cummberbun mets the cod piece. Just a small note as well, your pouches flap over, should be half , it looks a little more. Otherwise I love your build your doing a good job! Here are some photos from the movie to help you out. I also believe in the forums we have patterns to which I copied showing the measurements.

Aradun
Looks good James. Much better. Love your work ethic. Keep in mind that the seam line where you the attached cod piece should be removed if you plan to go for Lancer down the line. Not sure if it will effect basic approval if it’s visible. Might want to check in with an armorer.Your kit looks really good. Nice job on putting things together. The following observations are not criticisms but some suggestions to help you tighten things up for when you kit up again for your submission photos next time. 1. Pull your cummerbund up about two inches. You want your chest armor to rest just above the pouches as in the photo above. Looking at your side profile, you don’t want to see any black between your chest/back armor strap and the top of the cb. Check out the side of the scout in the set photo above. Even with his arms raised no black is visible beneath the strap.2. Pulling the cb up will also raise your belt too. Your want the belt to sit around your waist. 3. There’s a slight cod crunchy visible. To remedy try loosening your strap some or putting a stiffener in the bottom portion of your cod piece to prevent the cod cruchies. You’ll be amazed how these little adjustments will make a huge difference in your overall appearance. Keep up the great work! One last thing. I gotta ask...where’d you get that baby Yoda? It looks great!
FarEast
Awesome information!! Many thanks for that! the stitch line has completely gone now as I removed the thread completely and then washed it - I’ve used a different method to attach the cod price to the cumber band that I think is much neater. I also repacked the pouches as they looked off in the photos and aligned the flaps properly.
Aradun
James, nice job reworking the cb! I’m sure you’re pleased. When you kit up again, be sure to look at the bottom of your belt in the mirror. You don’t want to see any of the cummerbund sticking out below your belt, especially in the back. The CRL states that the cummerbund “Extends from just under the chest armor down to the belt.”If you find that it does extend below your belt the easy fix is to drop your pouches down accordingly so that any extra length in the cb is hidden under your chest armor and not your belt. Keep up the great work. You’re tightening up your build nicely. You’ll took awesome when it comes time to submit your photos.
FarEast
Is there anything else you can see that might hinder my application for lancer?
Aradun
Is there anything else you can see that might hinder my application for lancer?Nothing in your build catches my eye as being an issue for basic approval. But if your goal is to apply for Lancer status with the detachment once you get basic approval from your local garrison then you’ll need carve the souls of your boots so that they are screen accurate. Here are some reference photos of the original boots used as the base for the scout boot. Here’s a screen shot of the boot itself. The best thing to do now is to kit up again now that you’ve fine tuned some things and with the suggested adjustments take some new photos and post up. This will allow you to see how everything looks now. This will also allow an armorer to review the photos. They have a far more discriminating eye for detail than I. When you do kit up again, make sure to rotate your bicep armor forward a bit more. It should be in line and centered with your shoulder bell. Your forearm armor should sit just on top of the gauntlet portion of your glove and be centered on the V pattern sewn in your glove. Looking forward to see those new photos.

Retrofire
Congrats Pathfinder! I think it’s great that you’re going to go for Lancer. Please review the pinned posts here before you submit: http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/forum/51-lancer-deployment-request/ I would also recommend that you review a few of the approved Lancer applications to get an idea of what you’ll need to do. Any questions please feel to let myself or @Chopper know and we’ll be glad to help. 2

Aradun
They look good James. I know you’re getting your kit ready for your lancer app, so keep in mind that the CRL requires the boot soles to be one color. Check in with an armorer to see if your soles need to be painted to hide that dark band where the soles meet the uppers.
