Stroker Posted March 30, 2020 Posted March 30, 2020 Yeah it's the chest causing the over lap. I'm 6'5" and I tried my old armor on with my new soft parts and the pouches did the same thing.

And if I do should I bring the width in an inch as well to keep the rectangular shape?

You maybe able to adjust the chest armor a little more.

troygordon2 Posted March 31, 2020 Posted March 31, 2020 Thanks for posting mate. I should get my SC kit in today, but my soft parts were ordered from South America and are held up with this whole containment bit. I'm impressed with your sewing ability for sure. I have a good machine, but can't honestly say I do much besides poorly repair things and sew nylon strapping together for builds. Well done so far and thanks for logging all this down. I'll definitely be following. 1
Pituitor Posted March 31, 2020 Author Posted March 31, 2020 @troygordon2 Thank you, this has definitely been a learning experience in terms of sewing. And looking back, this thread has become a timeline of my hair growing out apparently. Best of luck on your build and let the delivery gods smile down on your packages coming from SA! 1

Yeah...I guess I'm literally holding my breath at times like these. All in good time, I'll be busy prepping armor in the meantime. 1
Pituitor Posted April 13, 2020 Author Posted April 13, 2020 Working on getting the bucket finished finally. I have cut out the front but the dremel jumped once and I have to improvise a bit. I would love some feedback before I glue the eye piece in place.
Pituitor Posted April 13, 2020 Author Posted April 13, 2020 My Thoughts are that I should take in the top line so that it is straight across without the dip in the middle, and that I should round out the sides a little.
Stroker Posted April 13, 2020 Posted April 13, 2020 Heres a sc faceplate that might help you out a bit with the cut out for the lense with a shot of a screen used bucket for reference on the visor line. You have plenty of material left on the visor to get the proper cut. 1
Pituitor Posted April 13, 2020 Author Posted April 13, 2020 @Stroker Thank you, those references will help a lot. Hopefully I can get that finished today so my neighbors don't have to deal with the noise from the Dremel anymore 😳 1
Pituitor Posted April 17, 2020 Author Posted April 17, 2020 Hi y'all, I was hoping to get some feedback on the snout painting and greeblie before I glue everything in place. Does this look ok?
Chopper Posted April 17, 2020 Posted April 17, 2020 Placement looks good. Also, pro-tip, but if you dip the end of a toothpick in rubbing alcohol, you can very carefully clean up those paint bleed spots around the black painted area. 2

Awesome, thanks for another helpful tip. Everyone here has made the whole build so much easier and less stressful! i really appreciate it. 2
Pituitor Posted April 18, 2020 Author Posted April 18, 2020 I''m wrapping up the portions of the build that I will be making, just waiting on boots from CheeseWhoopy, then I'll begin my application. In the mean time I have a couple hiccups that I need to sort out on the helmet. There is some paint bleed that i am gonna tidy up with isopropyl alcohol but I have some e6000 glue residue on the from of my lense where it dripped and I am wondering if the rubbing alcohol will help there or if it will erode the lense?. I also have an issue where the edge of the dremel bit into the helmet while I was cutting out the ear holes. It wasn't as noticeable before, but since I have painted the inside black it is much more apparent. Does anyone have any tricks for covering it up? I am locked down in a small apartment for probably another month so space and resources are limited, but I would love any recommendations. Thanks for the help!
Harbinger Posted April 19, 2020 Posted April 19, 2020 You don’t need rubbing alcohol to remove E6000, you can just rub it off. As for the dremel nick look up ABS paste, that is probably the best solution but read up as you can make it worse if you don’t know what you are doing. 1
Pituitor Posted May 4, 2020 Author Posted May 4, 2020 Still waiting on Boots before I submit for 501st approval, so I can't join the virtual May the 4th Troop (I still donated tho!) but I wanted to take a few above-the-knee photos to celebrate! May the 4th be with you all!
