Hi all and thanks ahead of time for any help. I'm working on my helmet now and looking for input as I am not seeing many like mine. I will post pictures once i figure out how to make them smaller as all my phone pictures won't load but here is a link to my Instagram https://www.instagram.com/p/B50naaoBVP5/?igshid=i9cymy16rrv6

I'm curious, did you 3D print that helmet?

Yes I was planning to print my whole setup

Right on. I know a few scouts on here have opted to go that way, though it's less common than with our shoretrooper cousins.

Just looking at your instagram photos, you'll definitely need to fill im all the "vent" slots in the front and back of the helmet. The actual scout buckets used decals for those parts of the helmet.

The other aspect I noticed is that the return edge on the top of the visor is really short compared to the sides. The edge on the screen helmets was about the same all the way around.

You can see a lot of really helpful details on the screen scout helmets in the link below:

Hope that helps!

Cool I'll check it out and that sucks as I have way to much time into it so far to kill it by filling it the vents.

That might have been my fault on the vents. When I originally posted on your welcome thread I thought when you said vents that you meant just the openings at the ears. Those are typically cut out for circulation.@Jakeputt pointed this out to me and both he and chopper are correct. There shouldn’t be any openings through the helmet other than the ear vents. I’m sorry for any confusion this caused you and I hope it didn’t futz up your print.

It's all good the helmet is already finished other than a lens and a few decals. I already planned on the vents as I was looking for better air flow and functionality while looking original. Now just trying to decide if I want to get another or move on.

For photos, I've been posting mine to Imgur and then copying the BBCode into my posts for each photo.

Working on my helmet and chest/back armor and have a few questions. How is everyone attaching the shoulders to the chest/back. I see it says zip ties but doesn't show how. Also working on getting my helmet right and can not tell it where the nose decal goes is flat or goes with the helmet lines. Thanks all for any help.

If you look at this thread, it should show you how to rig up the zip ties for the shoulder bells

Thanks Chopper definitely check it out once I get the chest and back together. Anyone have any recommendations for gloves and boots? How's imperial boots quality?

IB gloves are fine for clearance, but the Wampa Wear gloves are what most scouts use. Plus, being that you're in the US, you'll save on shipping using Wampa Wear too.

The IB scout boots are ok for basic clearance, but need significant mods for lancer. They also come in a set height per size, so they may be too tall or too short depending on your build.

Making your own boots is not too difficult and a good confidence booster.

Use can use this guide:

Off the top of my head, there's also a number of vendors who will make them for you. You'll need to talk with them about production times, prices, and availability.

I'll have to look those gloves up as they didn't come up when I was searching and I'll keep that in mind for the boots thanks Chopper.

Wampawear has great gloves. Solid quality. Their sizing chart is helpful too when ordering. I found it spot on in my case. Gloves are snug (which I prefer) but not tight or restricting. Some elect to remove the lining to keep their hands cooler while trooping.

The only thing I see so far that he did different then me was how he mounted his rear tank. He only used elastic on the top where I used it al the ways around like it said in the CRL. Now I need to make anchor points for my shoulders on my chest rig. Definitely a good read.

Ok cummerbund question. All my straps a white but since my drop pouch straps are cotton they are to me more off white so that means I need off white pouches correct?
