Question: Affixing the hump

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, Ran into a snag.

Whats everyone doing to attaching the hump to the back? I have a Moncal kit and the bottom rivet on the hump is too far from the back piece to be riveted in place, without possible causing too much pressure and ripping through the ABS. I'm tempted to cut a panel in the back piece and plastic weld or CA glue from the inside.

What have you guys done?

Strapped it to the back armor with 1/2 inch elastic, like in the film :)

I strapped mine with the 0.5" elastic, as well as some velcro tabs to keep it from rattling around.

a free floating tank is cannon ;)
its not secured to the armor in any way and its only held on with the elastic!

i wear my tank that way ... i cant tell how many times ive been thankful having it like that due to people wrapping theirs arms around you for pics and then drag their arms down across the tank ... the free floating method moves the tank out the way and it springs right back into place or close enough

I didn’t know about the tank being free floating...? I’ve always been curious about the strap too. I never imagined it was meant to hold the tank in-place. I wound up going with using the CA glue and simulating the strap.

Thanks for the info lads.

Yes that's the way it was done in the movie. I did mine like this and its saved my tank several times along with making it easier to carry in my armour bin.
