I know he would probably not want me doing this, but I'm going to anyway.

Today Marcel (@4505Marcel) let us know that he is hanging up his Scout and retiring from the Legion.   For those of you who weren't around, Marcel was our longest-serving Detachment Leader.  It might be hard to believe now, but back in the day, the Scout was considered an easy way to get into the Legion.  It had fairly low requirements and wasn't held to the standard of scrutiny it is today.

Marcel laid the foundation for the high level of accuracy we are currently enjoying with the Biker Scout.  Flak vest?  Butt patch?  Thigh patches?  You can credit (or blame!) Marcel for getting those added to basic.  And taking a costume that was considered entry level to one of the best looking rigs in the Legion!  We have continued his work as we drive our speeder bikes toward the future.

All good things must come to an end though, and we wish Marcel the best in his future endeavors.

Tip of the Lance!

Thanks bro, I’ve done over 10 years in the legion and I believe 6 of those as detachment leader here. This place will always have a place in my heart, worked with some great guys and did some great troops which will stay with me forever.

But I fell out of love with the trooping mainly due to my trooping circle of friends  at war, and then got really busy building my family home and my day job.

ive thought about this over the last year, and made the decision to hang up my bucket.

but troop on, keep this place awesome and love to you all

Happy Retirement!

I remember the days when the det started pushing what used to be Lancer requirements to the basic 501st spec. People were losing their minds over some extra strapping and a few bits of suede. We really have come a far way since then, and we're much better for it.

Thanks for everything and enjoy your retirement, Marcel!

Thanks for everything Marcel! The barracks porch light will always be on for you even if you want to stop by and lurk. Thank you for all the guidance over the years and laying the groundwork for what is the best detachment in the Legion! Best wishes to you and yours!

Thanks for everything you've done to bring the Pathfinders to the fore of the Legion mate, I'll wear my boots with pride even more so now!

Anyone that dedicates that much time to the Legion and so much time to actually leading a detachment get's all the respect in my book good sir. Always hate to see anyone go but when it's no longer fun or life takes you elsewhere no one can say anything else but WISH YOU WELL. Cheers to you @4505Marcel
