100% agree.

Somehow IB missed it and myself missed noting it during my review

I have them installed correctly on my redkap, but the questioned myself when I didn’t see it on the IB suit.

Here is is the image of the tan leather  before the dye

Rob, Thanks for the pics of the flak vest. The IB vest /bund/cod is looking to be on my short list of purchases, but I still have concerns. It sure looks like the shoulders are padded and have the ribs. But what about the arms, looks to me like padding but no ribs. Would that be correct?

Flak vest has stitched ribs on the sleeve ....it's just that the stitching doesn't go thru the layers, it's just on the surface layer .

Im getting my sewing machine out ...simple job to sort . RS are aware and sorting it.

Interesting that the sleeves were done in segments.  They should be raglan and in one piece.

Do any photos exist of a real movie one ?

Not that I've seen.  We know the sleeves were raglan because of how they were described in sources, including the "Stormtroopers: Beyond the Armor" book I noted above.

Hi! I was hoping you could give me some clarification on the raglan sleeves for the vest. The picture on the CRL and the tutorials here (like the awesome tshirt one) don't show full raglan sleeves but maybe a partial raglan. From my understanding, the picture on the CRL looks to have the diagonal seam of a raglan as well as having the seam come closer to the neck seam as a partial raglan. But, re-attaching sleeves to a tshirt, in which the sleeve would start at the shoulder, wouldn't provide this same kind of sleeve, correct? But, it is approvable anyway?

Thanks for being so willing to answer my random questions out and about on the forums. As I save up to buy the armor, I'm trying to research and get started on the soft parts I can and get ready for the ones I need to finalize with the armor.

Here's the bottom line when it comes to basic approval: if it has the appearance of being as described in the CRL, then you're good. That goes for the raglan sleeves and everything else. You're going to take your approval pics fully suited up, and the armor covers up a lot. So once suited up, your sleeves look correct, then you are good.

Level 2, should you decide to do it, is a different beast because we ask to see each individual part.

And if you make an awesome raglan sleeve vest and its better than the one in the CRL, maybe yours can become the new CRL model!

Thank you! I've made several soft costumes so far, so that's all the experience I have when it comes to armor builds, but if I'm gonna make it, I want to try to do it as good as I can the first time :)

What about neck seal ? Must be or not ?

Does ib vest has neck seal ? On rs pics we clearly see it. Btw balaclava is not an option. We can see skin 😁

No neck seals, and a balaclava is a must.

The pictures and info in the CRL are what matters for clearance, not pictures from a vendor.

All right. If we follow the logic only rs is perfect for helmet and armour and nothing else. I had pair of boots from ib bought 3/4 years ago, now they are in the bin. Not comfortable and too small. The sole is not accurate at all.

My jumpsuit just arrived.

........

The only modifications  I plan on doing to the jumpsuit is removing the elastic band and replacing it with cotton 2” vintage strapping and adding stirrups to the feet to keep the legs from riding up

Just got some time to work on my IB soft parts as well.

Great idea. I don't feel confident enough to do the straps (but nothing ventured nothing gained I guess). However I did put some stirrups on. Thanks for the suggestion 🙂
