clockworksoldier Posted September 7, 2018 Posted September 7, 2018 I bought an ABS helmet kit that Was made very well but it did not come with any of the pieces to assemble the split visor and split bucket. What kind of plastic/abs strips or materiel should I use to hold the parts together and where can I find them? Quote
Chopper Posted September 7, 2018 Posted September 7, 2018 You mind if I ask which kit you're working on? Some vendors will send you extra abs if you ask. You could also use the flexible sign material, which say "For Sale", "No Parking" etc, that they sell at Home Depot or hardware stores. One side is usually printed on, the other blank white. Since you'll be painting the whole helmet anyhow, the minor differences in white won't matter much. Quote
clockworksoldier Posted September 7, 2018 Author Posted September 7, 2018 It is a kriptontop kit from Etsy. Pretty thick and sturdy from what I gather. So sign material? That’s pretty easy. As far as glue should I use loctite, superglue, plastic bonder? Quote
Chopper Posted September 7, 2018 Posted September 7, 2018 Ah ok yeah I wouldn't expect getting extra abs from him in s. america would be that easy. You could also try WTF if you want. They'd probably hook you up with some extra ABS that's a bit thicker than plastic sign board. For glue, some folks like CA. I like devcon plastic weld. Just make sure you double and triple check your fit, bc once you glue the parts, they're not gonna separate. 1 Quote
