BikerScout007 Posted March 22, 2020 Author Posted March 22, 2020 Because I'm stuck at home along with the rest of us, now is a good time to do some repairs on the Shoretrooper and Vanguard upgrades as wellAlready started repainting the Anovos so now I'm turning to the hardware. Here's a set of replacement hardware from Bone Buddrus. Not sure about the belt boxes. They are pretty heavy! I can only imagine that with them and the thermal detonators my belt will weigh a ton! 2

BikerScout007 Posted March 27, 2020 Author Posted March 27, 2020 @TK8271 Rogue Trooper @ScaryGuy: Bone Buddrus attaches a strip of webbing to the back of the upper shin straps. Not sure if I should keep it, remove it, use it to glue to the armor, etc. What do y'all think?

I glued the webbing on one side to the shins, on the other side I glued some velcro to the webbing. I can open my shins so I needed to be able to open the straps. There is some residu on the webbing that makes gluing a bit more difficult. For example self adhering velcro would not stick. Some pictures from mine are here: 1 1

I can't remember what I used last time LOL I used e6000. But because I had issues getting the glue to stick to the webbing I first smeared some e6000 on the webbing and let that dry. This will give more grip to glue them to the shins. 1

Hmm, I think I might need a new tube, because it slid right off. It's a tube I've had for a long time. One of my straps didn't come with a webbing backing and that's the one I tried first. I tried it again with Welder's Contact Adhesive and so far it's holding. I'm going to get a new tube of E6000 and give the other straps a go with it. Thanks! 1

I actually consulted this a year ago when I was building the first time. A lot of help! The issue I'm having is I couldn't remember which glue I used! But I figured it out yesterday. It was the Welder's Contact Adhesive. I've gotten both of the lower straps on and will be moving to the upper straps today. 1

BikerScout007 Posted May 1, 2020 Author Posted May 1, 2020 First pass at re-weathering the Sahara Beige parts of my armor. I was never happy with my weathering the first time around. I'm using the production photo of the Shoretrooper Captain as my model, so it's going to be a little lighter than some Shoretroopers out there. Biggest issue I had the first time around was that Kevin shipped me a white armor kit, so many times I would sand the edges to create some damage and get back down to the raw white plastic. This time around I hit it with two coats of black primer. Then the Satin walnut brown paint/primer, and finally the Sahara Beige. I've used acetone and paper towels to recreate the exposed undercoat effect, again, matching to the production Captain photo. I've used a watered down Burnt Umber acrylic to start building up dirt around the raised areas and grooves of the armor, dabbing it up with paper towels. I used Maskol to create the smaller paint chips. So far, so good. I'll be adding more to this soon. 4

BikerScout007 Posted July 8, 2020 Author Posted July 8, 2020 I know I said originally I wasn't going to carry a blaster, but since I got into 3D printing I thought this would be a fun project. So here it is, my completed Sean Fields E-22! All ready to sit inside my bin and never see the light of day since we are never allowed to carry blasters on troops ever Happy to answer any questions anyone has about 3D printing a blaster. I'm a novice but I will do my best. It was printed with PLA, reinforced with XTC-3D, then painted a semi-gloss black. I dry brushed it with a metallic silver acrylic to give it the metal effects. @MrPoopie revised the mag port for me so that I could bolt it into the PVC rather than gluing it. I have that file for whoever needs it. The slide bolt had fallen off before I took this pic. I've since glued it back on. Probably took about one roll of filament to do. Plus about $2.50 worth of PVC piping to hold it all together. The strap I made myself and the tutorial for that is here: 3

BikerScout007 Posted August 10, 2020 Author Posted August 10, 2020 Chin cup time! I painted it black and then switched out the original strap with 1/2 inch black elastic. Since I kept the liner inside my Anovos bucket, I just needed to sew some Velcro onto the ends of the elastic to secure it to the bucket. 3
