Wildcards Rex
So, I was trying to get my boot holster riveted to my boot tonight and the whole thing fell apart. I used a backing inside the boot to have something for the rivets to grab on to. But alas, they just fell out after 20 seconds. Now there are four holes in my boot, four rivets in my holster that I have no idea how to get out, and I have Wizard Con this Saturday. Please, suggestions are welcome. Lawless Scout
dont worry this happens. Just drill out the rivets. You might need a bigger backing - i used metal washers and sometimes the rivets are not long enough to get a good solid grasp on the backing. Do you know they are long enough? Wildcards Rex
I honestly thought they were long enough. I suppose they weren't. So, longer rivets and use washers instead of the ABS.

ABS can work too which ever you have. I used ABS on the belt rivets. but yeah longer ones so the end can coil up and make a great anchor. Not a hard fix at all.

Not a hard fix at all. This! Just cut you some abs pieces out stick em on the back of the rivets then one rivet washer per rivet and your good to go. I like to cut out round pieces for the boot. You won't have anything scratching and cutting into your leg.

khazara
Ok thanks folks. I started to panic when my holster just Fell off my boot! Just be careful when you drill out the rivets. The rivets heat up when you drill them out, enough to melt the abs they are sitting in. So you might end up with larger rivet holes than you started with - take breaks when drilling them out so the rivet doesn't get hot enough to cause that damage. Lawless Scout
Just use a small drill just big enough and they should pop right out.
