Suit Fit Questions

Recommended Posts

Got my suit and wanted to confirm something. There should be a little slack in the elastic around the thighs correct? Mine are tight.

I also like the idea to sew elastic loops for the arms and feet to help them stay tight. Anyone have done this or photos?

Only other thing I want to do is slim the arms and legs so they fit tighter/ cleaner for Lancer.

They look abit tight, they should not be pressing in the suit, just go around the outside.

Elastic loops are a great idea, really helps.

Yep, the straps should fit around the leg, but not super tight. Let 'em out a little bit!

There should not be any slack in the straps, but they shouldn't be cutting off the circulation to your legs either. Yours look a bit tight.

I’m going to cut em in back and sew in a bit more strap so my legs don’t go numb.

Also do you think the patches are fine? I’m hoping they aren’t too short.

Thanks again guys!

Hard to tell without your knee armor on. They may be a bit short

Got some tailoring done to suit and vest. Anything glaringly stand out with my armor and fit yet?

Pick up bund and boots Friday to complete gear!! Almost there.

THANKS!

Pretty good man. Getting there!

The excess plastic on the top and bottom of your belt could be trimmed down a bit.

Also, some small stuff -- check the attached image for some suggestions on your back flap size and drop box strap placement -- the back flap should be a bit smaller and the drop box straps should be connected a bit closer together.

Really close now! Keep it up.

I was thinking same on belt. And thanks for the graphic on trimming. I actually got the belt and suit 2nd hand so it came this way but I’m really tryin to get it clean and lancer status.

So moving the boxes and trimming up that stuff should be easy.

Trimmed the top and bottom lip of the belt. Feel like it’s more representative of an actual belt. I’m going to try to heat it up and make it a bit more rounded rather than the hard bend it has now.

What about adding in faint lines of a grey to make it seem even more realistic? Give it the impression of being an actual pouch. Trying to go a little extra and give it a more movie realistic vibe or is that too much?

The CRL states that the bund needs to "close in back with 50mm (2") hook and loop fastener".

It'd be down to the particulars of your specific GML, but you should be ok for basic approval.

For anything further, I'd encourage you to try and center the closure, as per the CRL model image:

Hey dude, now you look like a scout!

A few minor things you might want to tinker with -- nothing huge.

Do you have the 1/2" strapping on the upper knee? I can't see it in the photo.

Try and get those drop boxes to sit level. The rear ends on both should come up a bit.

When you pull the elastic strap through to attach to your back, you don't need to pull it super tight. Try and let the cod rest flat against the front of your body.

Again, this is small stuff. Great work getting it all together. Are you planning on submitting soon?

Yeah I have both straps as required. Good notes and I am submitting for sure.! Hoping to get out on a troop ASAP.
