Lawless Scout
Picked up a complete untrimmed WTF kit for a great price I couldn’t pass up. Helmet seems to be made of different ABS than the rest. It’s dull and thicker while the rest seems thinner and glossy. It looks great just seems odd. Does this seem correct? Anyone who has the Walt kit can confirm this? 762s
helmet being several pieces youll be adding bondo or similar to it and paint ...so it doesnt need to be shiny. being made of thicker plastic is nice though, youll want that for a helmet. my rs helmet is thicker than my cfo armor too ... Chopper
Yeah, everything is a-ok with your kit. Walt used a totally different gauge and type of plastic for his helmet.

Super excited to get working on this kit. Helmet looks wicked and super thick. Now I need to find a armor party! DevilDucky
I'm working on a Walt's kit too, he pulled the helmets in HIPS and the rest of the armor in ABS.

BlitzJaeger
Personal preference here but I just dont like helmets split down thte middle. You have to make them even and then paint to match, with yours it may be ok set off from your armor with the black suit but you wont know till you finish and again as mentioned, youve got to get the seam bondoed and perfect! Also, yes, on some kits the ABS might seem different from part to part, although most makers try to match them the same, Ive seen it happen in kits before. A lot of that comes down to...you get what you pay for...

It does make it a bit tougher build for sure but I got a wicked deal on this kit and it’s my second one so having fun. The helmet will be better than the one I currently have once it’s done though so I’m excited for that. • Future Scout Currently Not Living Anywhere Near Endor

Compare notes on techniques would be good. • Future Scout Currently Not Living Anywhere Near Endor
BlitzJaeger
If its not your first rodeo that gives you a better chance for a good looking kit, Im sure with the right amount of work it can look good. =)
DancesWithTrees
Can someone tell me the thinkness of the WTF kit and helm? I would like to get some extra plastic to practice on seaming together
