Squad Leader Kama

This pattern and information is not correct. I don't want to sound mean or rude its just the situation at hand. I'll be posting something very shortly.

Those who know me on this site can vouch that I am serious about the kama information and pattern.

One thing I think most people miss is the slight slope from the back to the front. The back of the kama is slightly higher than the front so the pattern would need to reflect that. But other than that, I'm not sure what else would need to be changed.

Hello folks!

Sorry for the delay was out of town these past few days. So I can't post the pattern because of some legal reasons but i can post my first prototype that I made. I am sorry if that's an issue. But here is the actual look of the kama. Mind you the color and material is not truly accurate but the pattern and shape is. More to come!

Any vendors doing these yet? Can't say I'm great with a sewing machine.

I am currently a vendor for them!

Hi nice work, can you post a pic from the inside?

I think the Shape looks good but the size is not correct i think.

The inside? Like the backside?

Also yeah my prototype was a little too short on me. All of the newer kamas go past the knee by 2" and around the hip bone by an inch. They will also overlap a little bit with the shin guards.

My new material is coming in this week folks! I should have another prototype soon.

OK, this seems to be confirming how we see things in the Mountain Garrison. I used CE mannequin pics, plus the action figure, and lots of CE mannequin pics.

How I see it:

Measure the rear of the kama to the top of your calf armor/greaves.

Measure the front of the kama to the lower part of the upper calf strap height.

On the back of the kama, go straight down from belt line, along the spine, to the bottom of the crotch.

We are taking each half of the kama from the spine (center line) to the outer edge of the wearer's hips.

Here is a photo album, it's public. It has my notes and references.

I used this heavily:

See how the back stops at the top of the greave, and the front goes to approximately the bottom of the stop strap:

  • 2 weeks later...

My wife is now 90% complete. It still needs Velcro and grommets and she needs to add the webbing straps.

I'd love feedback on this. This is for Scubacat. She starts on mine tomorrow.
