Any tips for KS buckets

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I finally have enough money to buy my self a KS bucket. I wanted some advice before I go out and buy it. I know that KS had some problems with their helmets, but what else should I expect from them. Thanks.

KS ain't accurate, you will need to replace the bolts and snout. I have KS armour but I decided to just sell it to someone who isn't going for 501st clearance and buy the SC body armour or maybe Chef's full kit.

I know the bolts aren't accurate, but what's wrong with the snout?

I'm not sure, but the bicep T-bits are wrong as well, the TD greeblies are non existent, the thigh boxes are oversized, all I know is that the snout does need to be replaced, KS got a lot wrong, so don't trust the snout.

I'm going to get the SC armor kit. Just wanted to know if there are things that I need to know before buying a KS bucket

I have a KS bucket and SC armor. It's really not a big deal. This is what I did:

1) Got correct decals from Trooperbay

2) Replaced KS's sticker snout with a Darth Voorhees snout.

3) Removed the black mesh from the ears and painted the inside of the helmet black

4) Took off the furniture pad bolts, painted two aluminum discs grey and glued them over the rivets that hold the faceplate to the helmet.

I detailed a lot of it here:

Anyway, KS is perfectly fine. I made Lancer with mine so you should be good with these few adjustments

The KS snout greeblie is incorrect, but like Mickey said, it's a very easy upgrade. It may depend on your GML, but I believe a KS can be approved as is, it's just a big enough difference and easy enough fix that just about everybody does it.

That is correct, commander. Mine was approved for basic right out of the box

how did you pay them was it via pay paypal, credit, or other. And is there another way to pay them besides paypal?

If you don't have PP, they have a form you can use to pay with a credit card through PayPal.

Though I highly recommend a PayPal account as you head down the road of building a costume. It makes things much easier.

I didn't want mine tied to a credit card, so I just load money into it via a moneypack you can get almost anywhere. Like a pre paid credit card, but it loads into your PayPal instantly.
