comm tech
THe hard armor prep looks really good. BUt the paint colors seem to be off a bit on the camo. The green is too bright and thin and the brown(?) looks more like a black. Also did you do a chrome color under coating? The armor looks well put together though. One last question, are the rubber parts (belt, knee straps and elbow straps and left bicep parts) you got with your bikerchick kit grey or are they black. Mine and a few others got the rubber in black, with our kits. And nothing will stick to them as far as paint, so I wondering if she finally is making them out of some form of grey rubber or silicone. THanks and keep at it.

opi wan
Hey Manny, I think you have to do the brown and green parts a bit bigger. Did you made them by brusching ? Try to sprey them I think that will look much better.
Grumpy
Wow...she's been busy! All of the armor parts look well assembled. Boot soles look great. Do you have any more pictures of the pants and shirt? The color on the shirt looks good. Great dye job! The base color of tan looks good, but the camo color brown just doesn't look right. The brown almost appears as black. Lighten it up a bit and go for a lighter tree bark brown. And for the camo "pattern", possibly make some of the areas a bit larger and even overlap them in different places. Here is an image taken directly from Episode III. It shows how the colors overlap and are blended. Plus it shows where some weathering and scratches can be placed for effect. Pic of Kashyyyk troopers from C VI. These are just examples of how the painting can be done. Check other build thread for more styles. But, it all comes down to your Garrison Membership Liason's decision. (GML) How are your cummerbund and pouches coming along? Check that the shins go down far enough to cover the top of the boot. (Where the laces are.) Also make sure that she has enough room between the shin and the boot topper, so that it doesn't rub when she walks. Comfort is the key in this costume. Don't forget to cut the slots in the shins for the shin straps to go through. But, like I said...WOW!! Very good job so far! Keep it up. Great to see more Kashyyyk Troopers being made in Germany! Grumpy
WOW! Big improvement. Yeah, indoor pics can make colors look darker. Make sure that when she submits her final pictures, she takes them outside on a sunny day...if possible. Front, back, both sides, and detail pics. gerald
great work on camo pattern :)those are matt paints,so they reflect alot of flashlight?
bselphfsu282
I was going to say the same, that the paint is too glossy. It needs to be dull. You may be able to use a Matt finish clear coat to dull it up a bit. Also you need some weathering on it as well. The green looks a bit too green, but it may be because it is glossy. gerald
would be best to see it in natural light flashes can change alot.If i can suggest sumfin, though im new here, best ask Grumpy or Heatshock,i think ur shins should go alot lower on the boot there shouldnt be boot visible between toe armour and shin, from what i see on pictures from Your build You 've no cut down edges of shin what makes it stick too high, other method is what Allan did add higher back edge on toe armour so it cover boot. And err dunno for sure but You should move thigh pouches on pants so they will be on fore part of thigh, best to do that before dying,so sometimes removing pouch after dying will left lighter marks where it was sewn.Doh just saw Grumpy already wrote about that shins haha sorry for doubling
comm tech
The gloves need to be changed and/or finished.
comm tech
Tell that to the wife and kids! Tim, bring it over one weekend and I'll help if you want. It is finding the time to do it. Lots of work in the real world means little time in my alternate universe.
Death Recon
LoL @ Brent & Tim... Everybody has something getting in the way of projects. But some of us are lucky to find a bit of extra time. Those gloves aren't finished yet Tim, they are just asking about how the hard armor looks while wearing it. Im not quite sure why you have your elbow armor riding down on your forearms/wrists (the top of the armor should be about flush with your elbow) The shins need to drop down more, just trim the bottom of them with a curve on the sides, this will make them drop down further onto your boot. Camo pattern looks good, you should try to get pictures outside so we can see the colours better... oh and if you put a clear flat coat on top it will help with the shine (I did this with mine as well) Your coming along nice, pretty quick too, keep it up!
