No problem at all. It’s hard to say because I’m not sure what all has been fixed by GA, with the originals I know the holster was never going to fly, the shoulders had a weird point and were super thick, the TD lacked a lot of detail. Oh and the snout pieces, I used his as well.
-
If you need any help, let me know. I had the GA files before they were redone and ended up not using the holster, shoulders, TD, and the forearms from them. MrPoopie hooked me up with those files to make it easier for approval. Me on the speeder bike.

Galactic Armory 3D ROTJ Scout Model Assessment
LookBehindYou replied to MrPoopie's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
If those bolts aren’t actually part of the print in that it’s a hole on the helmet originally (I know the bolt on the visor is separate), I would think you’d use only one on the visor that goes through it and into the hole on the helmet. Maybe gluing to the visor and held into the helmet hole with resistance like the original version. Or not use the printed ones at all and use the original 3m version (not sure if that’s right but you can find on these forums). Edit. The more I keep looking the more I get why he separated the bolts. Easier to paint, then put in the visor holes and glue. Then just attach through the hole on the helmet held by resistance. At least that’s what I’m thinking was the intent. But again, at that point, not knowing if it’d work, but I’d look at using the original type of bolts. -

oh wow, that seems like a different design. I’ll have to download the new files to look. Here is how it originally was. You’ll have to zoom in but you can see on the left of the picture the hole, and on the right the post (bolt) that goes in it. You essentially have to spread it to light it up, then release the sides to so the posts (bolts) sit in the holes. -

Is it not just three pieces anymore? The back, top and visor/front? That’s how it was for mine when I did it earlier this year and the visor with the bolt pieces just squeezed onto the helmet where the holes were. It kept in place on its own for the most part unless I lean face down quick it’ll start to open which I’m figuring out a way to keep it in place. But other than that it didn’t seem much of an issue. -
I did it! Approved, just have to wait for my TKID and welcome letter! Thanks to everyone who helped along the process! Now I get to look forward to trooping with the Bluegrass Garrison and doing the good work!

Will do! Thanks!

Will do! Thanks!

Doh!!! I took them off to iron them, and didn’t even pay attention putting them back on. That’s an easy fix!!

I finished!! Think I’m ready to submit for approval!

Just got an email from GA yesterday, hes updated the files to hopefully be closer to approval. I haven’t had a chance to look at them yet as I’m way past printing and hopefully made enough changes and swapped pieces for approval on my own kit, but just wanted to give a heads up. -
Suit is in, working on the boots then it’s off to do some sewing. The cod piece is just held in place with the belt so it’s up to high, thinking I’m going to sew the Velcro part for it to the suit so it’s positioned right. Also need to do Velcro for armor pieces and some other things, and fill the pouches for shape. But it’s looking good so far!
-
Also did another test fit of the what I’ve done so far. A few adjustments, but not worth making til the undersuit is here. Edit: i was slightly annoyed after looking at these pics. Shortly after I took them I realized my decals I had printed for the back vents were in the mailbox (thanks @Pluggerfor the file!)
-
Boot tread cut, staring the vinyl tomorrow!
-
Belt done and attached! Down to finishing the belt, and making the boots. Then it’s the wait for the suit which will hopefully ship this week.
-
If those boxes are an inch lower than the belt it’s looking great to me!! Fantastic work Dom!

3D Printed armor sellers?
LookBehindYou replied to Republic_dom's topic in ROTJ Biker Scout Armor/Helmet
Thanks for linking that! Since my wife has been putting up with me doing this biker scout build I promised her I’d make her a nimbus 2000, this will definitely help since it’d be so hard to sand the broom head portion. -
3D Printed armor sellers?

While certainly not an authority on the matter, both myself and @Pluggerare doing similar builds. You may want to check out our build threads to help and get ideas. While ours have not been approved (yet!), others have commented to give us help through the process. If it saves you any time or effort it’s worth it! -
From my understanding the chin piece is optional, I grabbed mine off either thingiverse or cults 3d for free. Because it’s not shown when in full kit it isn’t a requirement. For the thermal detonator and holster, I ditched the GA one and went with files from @MrPoopie, he might be able to hook you up. As far as abs and 3d printed not sure. I’d imagine it’d be ok to mix like that as long as they have the same finish and look overall, which may be easier said than done.
-
Did another test fit, because why not lol.
-
Thanks! It’s boot build time which I’ve been procrastinating on, but it’ll be at least two weeks before the undersuit arrives (which at this point I kind of wish I’d had made myself just for the satisfaction)
-
I picked up a 1 foot section of corrugated pool tubing (used between pump/filter of pool) for five bucks at Ace and I think it turned out great. Also used @MrPoopieTD files. Granted I haven’t been approved so you may want to check with someone with more knowledge. But hoping this works out!
-
I’m now the proud owner of a thermal detonator! edit: And the helmet is done!
-
Good to know Dom! I haven’t riveted anything yet but might be today or tomorrow. I’m gonna be cringing on every one until they’re done. Even with aluminum lol.
